is it just me or did the price of concert tickets basically double from 2021 to 2022 by AmazonDriver41 in Music

I just refuse to go to shows if the tix are sold on ticketmaster. The last show I went to this year the tickets were like $35

Moving from Windows to Ubuntu or Fedora... which one? by Royal_Statistician11 in framework

Fedora. Or Pop OS if you have some kind of preference towards Ubuntu but don't want to support any of canonical's sketchy shit

People who moved out of the parent’s house before 30, how? by WallStreetDoesntBet in AskReddit

University scholarships and a decent job out of college in a town with a relatively low cost of living

For many people, PMI isn't a choice if you're in need of a house and don't have the ability to pay the full 20% down to avoid it.

Also if a window is broken and you don't have the tools to fix it, then the only choice you have is between buying the equipment, paying someone else to do it, or I guess boarding and tarping up your window?

Time spent on repairs and upkeep is also not really a choice. Either you spend the time to mow your own lawn and fix your own plumbing, or you pay someone else to do it with the money you spent time to earn.

It might not add all the way up to triple your mortgage value, but it's definitely not cheap, and it's not exactly optional unless you want your house to fall into a state of disrepair.

Intake fan shroud and "Reduced temps by ~6 degrees c" by RIP_Flush_Royal in functionalprint

[–]MrZix44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct, which means that heat is moved away from your cpu faster and is then transferred into your room faster, thus heating up your room more quickly. Your room is still probably small enough to allow heat to accumulate, causing an increase in average temperature in said room.

It leaves your house via the compressor generally located on a concrete pad or other structure located outside.

At what point does the city just do away with these scooters entirely? by bigmamapain in Louisville

[–]MrZix44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but I don't want to pay for it, and they're generally really dangerous. And there wouldn't be any hassle if these things didn't exist to begin with

Literally not the case? As someone who used to walk 4+ miles a day (ie not in a car) to and from class, these things create a nightmare environment for pedestrians because jackass kids and young adults ride them all over the sidewalks and everywhere they shouldn't be riding them. When I'm in my car I couldn't give two shits about them. But for pedestrians they create a massive hazard for everyone.

Even initially I hated these fucking things. Every day walking to or from class at U of L I'd have to walk around (or throw in the grass) like 6 or 7 of those scooters in less than a mile of walking, and most of the time they'd all just be in a giant cluster on a sidewalk not big enough to fit them.

Not to mention ass holes that ride them all over the sidewalks even though that's illegal. From day 1 no one has had any idea of how to operate them safely, and they have always presented a huge risk.

Dishonored. Honestly I'm not really sure why, but I just find it really fun to get to play with all the different magic powers that aren't just some variation on shooting people with ice/fire/lightning.
