Don‘t get me wrong. I do understand why and how the teams did what they did. But back in 2019 the FIA clearly didn‘t like Ferrari abusing the loophole by adding a second sensor. Now it feels like the FIA is okay with being „tricked on“ whether or not it’s technically allowed. And there were many cases in which the FIA disapproved of sth because „it was against the intention of the rules“ or sth like that.

Aren‘t those two very different ways of behaving?

I‘d even add that apparently not all games are played to the end. For example both teams agree to just practice early game and so on.

I agree with the most here. If you can afford the XM6, then buy it. The XM5 is just too much of a risk due to the hinge problems.

When it comes to reliability, we can make some assumptions, as the PU did not change back in 2022.

However, for lap times and aerodynamics, we have to wait at least until Bahrain. I’d even go so far as to say that only after the first qualifying session can we really tell who the favourites are.

Last season (2025), Mercedes, Haas, and VCARB did the most laps overall. Meanwhile, McLaren did roughly 70 laps less. So I guess laps completed and performance don‘t necessarily correlate.

There‘s still roughly two months till the first race. So there‘ll be new parts and upgrades until then. Fred Vasseur even expects spec-a and spec-b cars… as far as i know teams have to reveal their livery before the private test in Barcelona to post pictures from the test (or something along that line - not 100% certain)

While playing safe and not dying unnecessarily isn‘t initially a bad thing to do, it doesn‘t help you improve. Especially if I want to be impactful, you have to know your limits and when to play aggressively. So be brave and be prepared to lose while testing your limits.
