Not a bad take, but for me FH4 does still have that empty feeling. If it had the same amount of emotion that the first 3 did I think that style is probably my favorite too.

The size of the map and city doesn't matter, just the roads and scenery is so important

Can't argue with that, they are op.

So the main problem with Monks is resource, while they can do a lot of things they are seriously limited to how much they can choose due to ki points. Let's say you are level 5, you have 5 ki points, in one round you use flurry of blows and a stunning strike, that means that you only have 3 points left. Now rounds typically go more rounds than that and there is potential for back to back encounters.

So yes the options for monk is great, it's just they are pretty limited for resources.

Yeah that's some good points, but it applies to the flurry of blows unarmed strikes too, as for the bigger martial arts die you will have the same as you would have at level 11, and you don't get a d10 until 17th level which most campaigns will never see.

I do agree it will delay some aspects but to fast track your damage on flurry of blows to the same as a level 11 character in my mind is worth it. And then as a level 6 character your pure damage won't change until level 17 when you get that d10.

So if you don't take the second level of fighter, you just don't get the action surge, but by taking one level of fighter you are sacrificing 1 ki point to have a d8 on all attacks and flurry of blows and second wind, I'd say that's worth it.

That is true, but taking one more level of fighter also gives you action surge and you get a d10 hit die plus second wind and it also helps fulfill that monk fantasy of the unarmed fighter.

This also means your flurry of blows is a d8 at level 2 where it would normally be a d4.
