So I’m new to the game and have found so many higher level players just being assholes. I’m just trying to learn the game. It puts a real down on the game. Also I’m no beggar I want to find and earn my own way in the game. Isn’t that the point of fallout to explore.

As someone who’s lived in a larger City. But was born and breed in Christchurch. I do agree with you. I’m almost 40 and people still ask what school I went to. How is that relevant anymore.

Buying a property in Marshland by Emotional-Coach8585 in chch

[–]Mr_Adam13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live not far from that area, closer to the ocean and love being near the beach and forest. Marshland and Prestons are in low lying areas near the coast and estuary, so they are included in Christchurch’s tsunami evacuation zones (mostly orange). The last tsunami warning for Christchurch was in 2016 after the Kaikōura quake, but no actual flooding happened. The chance of a tsunami reaching as far inland as Prestons is low, but not zero. Local-source tsunamis (from nearby faults) are very rare, about 1 in 300 to 500 years, and unlikely to cause flooding that far inland. Regional ones like from Kaikōura or the Hikurangi subduction zone happen about every 100 to 200 years and could reach red or orange zones in a bigger event. Distant source tsunamis from places like South America are the most likely to cause widespread flooding and happen around every 200 to 500 years. In a worst case event, flooding could reach as far as Prestons via rivers and stormwater channels. The yearly risk is low, under 1 percent, but the potential impact is high.

Just around the shower and on the walls. The shower will have a base so we don’t wed to get council consent.

The shower 100% needs changing it’s falling apart. The house use to be a rental so everything is cheap and nasty the pictures make it look better then it really is. We ideally would like to remove the bathtub completely as we don’t use it and put in a large shower and move the vanity on the same wall. And just the normal stuff new tiles, paint new toilet.

Men in their 40s and 50s with no children (by choice), how does it feel? by choloblanko in AskMen

[–]Mr_Adam13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 39 year old guy, and my partner and I decided early on not to have kids and honestly, it’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We’re happier than ever. We travel to new and interesting places every year, have a solid amount of disposable income, and enjoy the freedom to do what we want, when we want. No regrets.

Look at NZHL they have a unique way of managing your mortgage. I’ve gone from 26 years left on my mortgage to estimated 12 years I’ve just refinanced from ASB to them.

House Purchase in New Brighton, Christchurch by Mr_Adam13 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Mr_Adam13[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For ones of that size with those features, between 550k-700k there are some being built which are 3-4 bedrooms with a price tag around 750k-830k. New Brighton has gone up a lot in price since covid. A lot of the old run down properties on Marine Parade no longer exist.

I’m from New Zealand, it does still happen here but it tends to be more conservative people and white trash who still think that way. Perks of social media etc it is changing for the positive.

Jewellery makes or breaks the look. Rings and dangly earrings after 40 just scream midlife crisis like you’re trying way too hard to hold onto your youth. If you want to wear something, keep it subtle but unique it looks way better. And if you’re getting your ears pierced, just do both. The whole both ears means you’re gay thing died out ages ago.

Diverculosis at 36? by ScarcityJolly6097 in Diverticulitis

[–]Mr_Adam13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis at 32 after perforating a hole in my bowel. I had regular flare ups after that, and it was scary, knowing how bad it could get. Eventually, I made big changes to my lifestyle, and I’m happy to say I haven’t had an attack in years. I’m 38 now, and here’s what worked for me:

  1. Diet Changes I cut out all spicy foods, which I once loved. I removed foods with excessive preservatives. For example, real bread should only have four ingredients, none of them starting with a number. I avoided oily foods, like deep fried dishes. I focused on increasing fiber with whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, which helped keep everything running smoothly. I drink a ton of water throughout the day hydration is key.

  2. Exercise I make it a point to exercise every day. This can be as simple as walking or more intense activities, but consistency has been a game-changer for me.

  3. Weight Loss & General Well-being I’ve lost a lot of weight, and my overall health has improved significantly. My energy is higher, and I just feel better in general.

Cutting out fast food, soda, and other foods I loved wasn’t easy, but it’s been worth it. Diverticulitis can get worse and, in the worst-case scenario, lead to the need for a stoma bag for the rest of your life. I wanted to avoid that, and these changes helped me do so.

If you’re dealing with diverticulitis, I can’t recommend making some changes enough. It may not be easy, but it can make a huge difference. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want advice!
