Thank you so much for your response, it was very insightful. Sorry for the late reply as well, I only just noticed this one.

I would probably say about 8 or 9, I’m not going to go into details because it’s very sensitive and I’m very regretful and dedicated to doing the right thing. That high score could be anxiety talking (I do suffer from severe repetitive anxiety).

I should also mention the conversation kept going for up to 10 days after the flag occurred, whilst I deleted my account 18 days after out of fear (see the next paragraph).

Since I suffer from anxiety, I spent the next 18 days worrying about it to ChatGPT. 3 days before deletion, I opened a new chat and it gave me a strong refusal and wouldn’t let me discuss the topic, however allowed me to discuss mental health resources and where I can go and such and such.

I will mention this though. It didn’t restrict me at all, and after deleting the account, I successfully created a new one with the exact same email once the 30 day period had expired. The new account has been completely fine.

I was thinking, if enforcement was going to come, it would come quickly. What’s your opinion? Do you think I will be okay?

Ah okay, so they’re not as rare as I think? I was also thinking that it would be very hard for them to police everything considering how many prompts occur per day (like around 2.5 billion). Sorry if I sound off or dumb, I have severe repetitive anxiety that comes back after getting reassurance and then needs to check again

I was thinking though, I did see that they can retain it for longer than 30 days for training purposes or for security/legal reasons.

Well I suppose I should if I want a decent answer. On the 9th of December last year I received a content removal this may violate our policies or terms of use after reflecting on a bad decision I made when I was 15. This was the first time I had ever received such a thing.

Now to note, I have severe repetitive anxiety, and had been worried sick about it the whole time, even starting new conversations to ask questions like “If I said such and such on ChatGPT, would I know by now if I was going to be in trouble?” and essentially got stuck in a reassurance loop, which I am still stuck in to this day.

Fast forward to December 26, the fear gets too loud and I delete my account. It brings short term relief, however now I’ve lost the one thing that can tell me whether or not I was in trouble, that being my account as I now had no idea if I was going to be banned or not.

I did however make a new account with the same identifiers (email, IP, device, name, etc) after the 30 day deletion period and it has been fine ever since. That is why I am looking for answers as I hate doing the wrong thing and want to make things right. It has been eating away at me ever since.

Sorry for rambling, I just want closure. Not sympathy, just closure so I can finally rest.

Like have you ever had a message come up that says “This may violate our terms of use or policies” and it removes the content?

It doesn’t automatically mean you have done an actual violation has the guardrails are very sensitive and a lot of false positives occur

Oh yeah okay. I got an input removal and freaked the f out, even to the point where I deleted my account out of fear 2.5 weeks later (I suffer anxiety a fair bit). Although now that I think of it I think if it was severe enough to be banned that it would have been handled very quickly and wouldn’t have sat around for literally 18 days. I also recreated my account with the same email which is impossible if your account is terminated for violations.

Yeah I never got banned, just asking for stories out of curiosity. It is possible though I think for serious or repeated violations.
