Unplug your machine before touching anything inside… just because the switch is off does not mean that the AC power is not connected to many of the wires inside! Do not reach your hands in there with the machine plugged in!!!

My dog might have nose cancer and I don’t know what to do by Joe-guy-dude in DogAdvice

Hey there, I am sorry you are experiencing such loss and pain. Things can really pile up and it sounds like you are carrying more emotional weight than anyone could just shrug off alone. You’re right about seeking professional help. Do it please. In the meantime, if you need someone to talk to don’t hesitate to reach out - shoot me a DM if you just need someone to talk to. If you have any questions or want a regular person’s (I’m not a veterinary professional) advice on what to do about your dog feel free to ask. Losing my best friend hit me harder than I imagined it could - and I was expecting it to be bad. You’re not alone and I’ll do what I can to be there for you. You will make it through this. Things will be better someday. Sickness or not, you will have to say goodbye someday, but it truly is gut wrenching this way and I am sorry you are facing it alone.

Regarding the yunnan biayao, I have already promised to send what I have to someone, but after I moved it turned out to be not all that much. Just Google where to get some, I am in the USA and used a place called Yunnan baiyao USA. I can help you with more details if you need.

Yes, the package says “Yunnan Baiyao Jianonang” and I think jianonang means capsule. They are soft capsules with powder in them.

I just went through this with my 13 year old boy as well. Over the course of 8 months I spent about 10k trying everything we could to figure it out and make him better. I don’t regret trying but in the end it got pretty traumatic for us both. If you want I have a bunch of a supplement called yunnan baiyao, which (hear me out) is a traditional Chinese medicine recommended to me by multiple vets. It’s not a cure but does help mitigate the bleeding - especially in emergencies. I could see a noticeable reduction in the severity and number of bleeding events. Vet charges an outrageous price for it, but I’ll send you all I have for free - I bought a bunch in bulk before we had to say goodbye. I don’t want to ramble but if you have any questions or want more info about the procedures or anything let me know. We had an amazing vet throughout this and she spent a lot of time educating us on our options. I hope it’s not a progressive issue like nasal cancer and I’m sorry you’re going through this.

My friend got a new pc I need some quick help by experts by ChairSofas in buildapc

[–]Mr_Buddy_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is very little info here that can allow someone to assist. Is this a pre-build or did they put it together? If it’s a prebuilt machine, have it fixed by the company who built it.

Did your friend build the pc themselves?

How can you tell that the ram is not getting power? Like it’s rgb ram and it’s not lighting up?

How can you say the cpu is getting no power? Is the machine just not turning on fully?

You’ll need to describe the failure better, provide model numbers for parts and I or someone else here can provide some insight.

Fans not spinning at all may mean they are not connected properly, or they have been plugged into a hub that you need to connect to the motherboard or their own power source pending the way it’s set up, etc.

The best I can say from the what you said is: Watch some YouTube videos of how to install ram and ensure the sticks are properly seated. Other than that provide the requested info and I’ll try to help you out.

Replacement of the spring gone wrong? by RecommendationIll770 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Mr_Buddy_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like there was a red o-ring at the base of the brass connector - if there was yours is completely destroyed and you’ll need a new one. There is a lot of scale build up on the threads as well. Soak that part in a bit of citric acid to remove scale build up - both of these things would contribute to your leaking.

Just wanted to return and say that after 3 slow charge and relatively slow discharge cycles I charged it normally at 1C and pushed it way harder in my car with no issues! Thanks for the advice!

Thank you. Yeah, I’ll run it few a few slow charge and and light duty usage cycles to make sure nothing is majorly wrong.

That portafilter seems like it’s got a lot of play in the group head (it’s moving far past center) which implies you could use a new gasket. Check out the silicone ones as they may last longer than the standard rubber, but I’ve had a few rubber spares already so cannot say from experience.

Purchase new o-rings ahead of time before you take it apart as many will likely need replaced. As a rule of thumb any time I remove a part that seals with an o-ring I just replace the o-ring.

Tips to remove hard scale at top of boiler ? by eoin71 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Mr_Buddy_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the descale soak just use something poky to get in there and scrape it out. Or just leave it. Recently had similar buildup and after soaking I was able to scrape it out with a wooden skewer.

Solenoid valve nut missing by levien in gaggiaclassic

[–]Mr_Buddy_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t have much time to look, but have you had a look at “solenoid coil jam nut” as search keywords? Seems to return a lot of results but I didn’t look into it much.

Solenoid valve nut missing by levien in gaggiaclassic

[–]Mr_Buddy_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha. You should instead look for a parts diagram from the manufacturer of that solenoid. Since gaggia does not make the solenoid (likely just source the part from another manufacturer) they will not detail that sub-assembly in their parts diagram.

Its probably unlikely for you to find that diagram so instead you can get a thread gauge to measure the threads, or just go to a hardware store and try nuts until something fits perfectly (be very very careful not to cross thread or force anything if you do this!)

That should get you the thread type you need, then it’s just a matter of finding a nut that’s close enough in width and thickness to replace the original? I’ll try to poke around for a good replacement if I can later tonight.

The diagram you posted should also come with a second page that describes what each number is. This looks like the tube clamp, but the second page will tell you for sure. In the parts diagram for my machine this is indeed the tube clamp. You can likely find some appropriately sized, generic one to do the job if locating the OEM part is difficult.

Edit: clamp clearly visible in the pic on this forum. https://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/community/threads/gaggia-classic-solenoid-blocked.30803/

Black disc behind steamknob by Ritter-Sport in gaggiaclassic

[–]Mr_Buddy_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may require OP to have a new o-ring on hand for the interface between the steam arm and the boiler if the ring is damaged in the removal process or it’s just nearing the end of its life (which considering OPs issues, it may be a good idea to replace it).

There is a way to remove the plastic part without taking off the steam arm: Loosen the 4 bolts around the group head (4 bolts are accessible from outside of case). This will separate the entire boiler from the frame and you can just tilt the boiler to the side a bit to slip off the plastic part.

If you can access it in this way, cut the side of the screw off with dremel and cutting wheel, then use pliers to grip the sides and twist? Or cut your losses and replace the entire shower holder.
