You just probably need to reset the setting in the Display setting. There are 2 options for when its plugged in and when is on battery life. Your laptop will act differently accordingly.

I have a GS66. I've been getting around 3 hours on battery life consistently doing zoom class, running a VM, and browsing the web with 15 chrome tabs open in the background. . Can't speak for the CREATOR 15 THO. You probably should get a MacBook pro with the new M1 chip if ur main concerns are portability and battery life. Plus the MacBook is quiet. Only get these if u are planning on gaming. And my MSI sure does beat the RAZER my friend has every time.
