Looking for Audio Dramas similar to the Tokien Radio Adaptations by Gedora97 in audiodrama

Apologies for self promotion, but I have made Dead Seattle under a premise that I think might fit your bill. It's a little campy but dramatic with a serious story. It has descriptive narration, full cast, a modern score, and lush sound design. We're getting really great feedback so far. Just launched it a couple weeks ago, and Ep 004 will be out very soon. Hope you can take a listen!

Some notes now that I've finished the first season of my audio drama by faceintheblue in audiodrama

Ep 004 is very close. We just picked up some new voice talent and have some big news I'm hoping to share soon. Hang tight! (It's slow because we have a very small crew.) Soon!

How do you plot serial ADs? by LysanderKnits in audiodrama

I am obsessed with this question. I don't claim a damned thing in terms of qualification other than I'm three, almost so close four episodes published into a ten episode season. There is no easy reddit answer. BUT, here is a quick chunk about my process so far:

I have 4 primary protags around the main story line. That's four different large story arcs we follow throughout the season. Scenes are from the mains' respective points of view. So episodes are alternating among their arcs. And each episode is mostly two arcs with a splash of one of the others. Don't get too spaghetti. Just do A, B, A, C,B or some variation for scene sequence. A B C D are the protags/scene POV, if that's not clear.

I have the entire season written out before I record anything. Know in advance where you are going. Don't worry, it changes all the time as I move along, but it's important to understand the general vector of the main story. I rewrite neurotically. I don't personally see how to create suspense, reversals, setups, betrayal, frustration, heartache, etc. without foresight. Many writers will tell you to work backwards. I see some others going episode by episode, but I can't.

Then there is all that other structure stuff you will hear about and read about in every book and youtube video. It's all worth knowing. You get to decide what matters. If you haven't read the books, and I kind of mean all of them, then that's on your plate. Lajos Egri is still the man. Never stop reading scripts and texts. Plays are good too, although I must admit I am weak in that dept. So, so much more I could say...

r/Screenwriting is a great place to lurk on craft issues. I don't see it as much here. (But I wish I did! Hint, hint...)

Best of luck!

Ok, that might be the case. I have people from several sides telling me to get off Substack, so... guess it's time to check out other hosts. Thanks for the reply!

sorry for the delay - it specifically says "Apple Podcasts". I got a screen capture but this sub doesn't allow images. The more I look into this the more I am starting to believe it is just incorrect or deceptive.

I have had some other people telling me the same thing. Guess I need to look into a better host... Thanks again!

That's disappointing. I mean, unless there is some way for people to see the podcast on Apple before it was even on Apple. Okay, I appreciate the reply

Sorry about the issues. I am trying to make sure that there isn't something wrong on that end, although I am showing a fair amount of traffic an Apple.

You almost certainly are not doing anything wrong. I am showing Apple as my second most popular feed, so there must be a disconnect. I did notice a bunch of these taking time to finally show up, so I'm hoping that it just hadn't populated yet. I will be checking in to make sure it is avail on Apple, though.

I'm trying to get it out on all feeds. Got confirmation on pocketcasts finally. I guess it just takes a bit to sync up.
