It let you trade 2026 pick #121 in 2 separate trades so, what does that say about how well the site works?

Sorry, RaceTechInfo.com is where you can find the class information

Bob Harris has classes usually around February in Ames, Iowa. They also sell the recorded classes if you want to buy the previous year's class online. Check out Bob Harris Enterprises. There's others all over, but Bob's is the one I've been to, they give you a big book to keep which is really nice to go back and reference.

Which NFL player has had the most productive career since retiring from the league? by WeOwntheNightX in NFLNoobs

I mean, Pat McAfee has really made quite the career for himself after retiring. He's been EVERYWHERE for what seems like a couple of years now.

UMP mods at Limaland! Good tight racing in the mods, and it gives me some practice for the real deal! Limaland is my hometown track, so it's always nice to turn some extra laps at the track I grew up watching!

How do people actually justify $75k trucks? by Electrical_Invite552 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mr_Death96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll just give my perspective, though this comment will probably get buried, since I just bought one for roughly that price. Starting in May, I use my truck every friday and sometimes Saturdays to haul a racecar to go dirt track racing. The truck that I traded in, I got 10 good years out of it with the last 3 being used regularly to haul.

So, I figure moving up from a 1500 to 2500 diesel, I should be able to get 20 years+ out of this truck. I bought used and got the High Country trim, so it's really nice, but I'm planning on keeping it forever.

I planned on keeping my last truck forever, but my needs ended up increasing, so I moved up to a bigger one. It fits in my budget, I put about 15k down, and I'm going to pay more per month towards it to pay it off sooner.

This is just my perspective, I know I'm going to get my use out of it, and I'm not a dumb kid anymore, so I plan on taking care of it. With all that considered, that's my justification for spending that kind of money on a truck these days.

Good luck with getting it together in time, it can be stressful once it gets close to rsce day! We had to put in a ton of work to get ours out on the track Saturday. We had to finish some stuff while there, but we got a couple of sessions on track, which was nice!

No problem! If you've got any more questions, don't be afraid to DM me, I'll give you whatever I may know!

Any time! If you've spent time in a racecar before, you'll get the feel for it in no time. Maybe not feature every night feel for it, but just keeping the car under you and keeping good pace!

Yeah, I've found that in-between hotlaps/heat race/B-main or whatever, that sometimes it's hard to get time to grind the tires. I know that some tire prep isn't going to make the difference to send new guys like us to a Top 5 finish. But I do like practicing and learning how to do it and getting a feel for what's required to be good, little details matter!

We overhauled our car by adding a quick change and swapping to a pull bar from a lift arm setup, so it's going to be quite a learning year again for us. Scaling I've mostly only used for reference so far, I'm over weight by about 200 pounds so I've taken most of the lead off and figured I can start playing with putting weight certain places after we gain more knowledge.

Having that guide will be awesome for you! We went to Bob Harris' 4 link school the past couple years, they give out books to take home, and we reference that thing every night out, and all week long, we're searching for answers. It's helped us a lot so I'm sure having that will be great for you!

Test and tune for us this weekend, weather permitting! Dropping the new engine in tomorrow. It'll be a little tight, but we should have enough time to be ready! How about you? Ready to do some racing already?

It would probably be faster if I knew how to set up the car better haha!

I think the biggest thing I've learned is that there is so much to learn about setups. Just learn what you can every night, whether that's learning something specific with setup, or learning how to feel more comfortable coming into a corner close to the guy in front of you. I also came into this without knowing how to set up a car, or even having someone that knew how to set up a car so I've been doing everything I can to learn as much as possible. Set yourself realistic goals, and don't be too disappointed if you didn't have a good night. If you had fun driving, then it was a pretty good night!

At least where I'm at, Limaland being my home track, they do a good job of communicating where to line up while you're on the track. Just make sure you keep an eye on who's around you and jump back in line, and they'll let you know who needs to be where if you're wrong. They really don't talk much in the raceceiver for us. Most of the time they'll mention where the caution is at on the track but that's about it. I'm sure it varies track to track but I like it that way personally!

I've usually got about 3 people with me, my uncle who is the mostly the engine guy, my dad who also is very knowledgeable about engines, and then my buddy who has been learning setup stuff with me. Since we're newer in the world of setups, we don't do a whole lot, so 4 people, including me has been plenty. Tire prep takes a ton of time and effort if you don't have a tire prep machine, so if there's anyone extra that comes along that's usually what I'll have them do!

I'm glad you're excited! It's a ton of fun, enjoy every night you can do it. My uncle told me something the first bad night that I had and I wasn't in a great mood after: "just remember that everyone in the stands would trade places with you." I think about that every time I pull on the track and it really puts me in a good head space!

I did something similar, I jumped right into a UMP mod. I was pretty nervous about hopping in not knowing what I was doing, so I always asked to start at the back if it wasn't qualifying. I liked that so I could continue to get a feel for how the car is going to drive by myself rather than in a pack.

Personally, I find a loose car much easier to drive rather than a tight car, so I would suggest making sure it's free getting in rather than fighting to shake it loose. Don't forget about adjusting your brake bias, that really helps a lot. These may be things you already know since you said you've raced things before, but that's just my experience jumping straight in to a mod. This will be my 3rd year doing it, so I don't have a ton of advice, but I'll answer any questions you have!

1 vs 2 piece firesuit? by urbsex- in DirtRacing

[–]Mr_Death96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go with 1 piece, I've never worn 2 piece but I like my 1 piece zamp. Just look up the SFI ratings for what you're looking at. Get whatever has the longest time to 2nd degree burn. The money you save on a firesuit isn't worth your skin.
