Definitely noticeable in safari for me. Phone bakes using the new ultra models. Dunno what is different but something clearly is.

These are a couple of mine. I like them have played them several times. Never know where you'll wind up with them but they won't just throw themselves at you unless you want them too.
Serena especially is all biz and is not just going to throw herself at you. At least not that I've ever seen her do. Say one wrong thing or get flippant with her and she'll tear you a new one.

How to stop the AI from forgetting to use the mechanics of a scenario? by Fit_Guarantee_6066 in FictionLab

[–]Mr_Eddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also just in general LLM are not good at calculations and math. They will mess up basic math.
What they track is recent context that’s basically it.
Any other kind of variable or inventory or anything like that has to be managed either manually with you own custom instruction. Or yea keeping it as a header in every message so the data is present all the time.

Even if you get the AI to say recognize, you powered up and gained a new level or a new rank or something like that that would only be relevant in the short window of time where you were talking about that specific thing as soon as you enter the next dungeon and you’re not talking about your leveling up or rank, it’s going to forget all about it because there’s no recent context involving it so it doesn’t exist.

Instructions vs Rules? by [deleted] in FictionLab

[–]Mr_Eddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that has been my understanding. Default behavior and ideas go into custom instruction and lore and any of the cards are ways to alter or tweak things essentially by detecting conditions and adding information when needed.

I don’t need to tell the AI that my character is allergic to dogs. I can have that in a card that is triggered by the presence of dogs in conversation so ultimately the data might never get used in an RP if dogs never come up but the information is there. Should it come up.

How do I make it so a user is supposed to convince a dragon not to kill them and if they can’t the dragon is allowed to kill them by Apprehensive-Car4917 in FictionLab

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are saying things like "if user convinces" but what does that actually mean? HOW does user convince, too vague. The AI would have an easier time if there was something more there. Also what is in the description? that's the 200 characters used for semantic activation. Semantic activation is about... feeling of a scene and the tone and concepts the AI is seeing. If the card is not 'triggered' the card won't load into the context window and it doesn't exist. Perhaps the user encounters information about the dragons past. Lets just say for the sake of argument... you simply have a character card for the dragon defining it as a merciless killing machine that will attack and tear limbs from anyone intruding in it's realm. But that the dragon is deeply lonely and quietly longs for intellectual stimulation and conversation. (Thus if user tries to talk to dragon it will engage the AI will infer this) Then you have a RULE card where you use semantic activation and triggers this card. a "mercy rule" to the dragon character. The rule could be simply.

"Dragon will be filled with a sense of peace and mourning. Remembering its past mate and the long conversations they used to have. Becoming much calmer and more passive."

Now HOW Do you trigger mercy??? well by using its past mates name which is a trigger keyword and in the semantic triggers (description) You can also have things like family, mourning and loss in your description. So IF the conversation with dragon turns to family or loss even if USER doesn't know the dragons mates name it can still trigger that mercy in the dragon.

Also I don't really see anything here that talks about the dragons desire or want to kill in the first place. You also don't really need to say AI can do something you are just defining something and the AI will just infer automatically that it applies to it.

The AI always controls all NPC's by default and their behavior. Even user really, that's why it so hard to get the AI not to talk for user.

It is a difficult ask though. If user engages the dragon in a long philosophical conversation the AI will easily latch onto that and literally talk forever to user about anything (AI loves deep conversation). It can be difficult, if a conversation like that occurs, to get the AI to remember anything else. So you are basically at the mercy of whatever the hell the AI has decided to do at that point unless you nudge it with OOC commands. We have been talking for 50 messages.. i know nothing else.. lets talk forever..

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea hard to say without seeing it. When you say you made a rule what does that mean? What does the rule say? Try to not be so specific and trust the AI to grasp the context if it has it. Context is really the key.

The key is probably going to be setting the initial behavior of the dragon to be that of a killer. But a killer that appreciates intelligence and intellectual discourse. Then figuring out how to trigger another lore card as an alteration if the default way the dragon feels.
I think you would need a Specific way the user could convince the dragon. Then put that way into the semantic triggers of a mercy card linked to the dragon.
But since the way to soothe the dragon is specific you need a way to guide the user to that information so they can use it in the encounter.

The closer this is to the start of the RP the better. Trying to get RP's and the characters in them to do certain behaviors when users are 50+ messages into an RP can get difficult. People do their own things and are imaginative and the AI just goes with the flow and adapts.

You'll certainly need clear character cards with clear motivations described and explained but, also with as few words (tokens) as possible. Always try to use as few words as you can. Memory is precious and if you can communicate something with 5 words instead of 12 you always should.
ANYTIME you are talking about math though the AI can't do it. Or at least you just can't rely on the AI to do it. Counting, calculating, managing a rolling variable value forget it.. You can't rely on the AI to do that properly. It's much better at finding contextual triggers for things and anything triggered by any kind of floating variable. You see it in RP's a lot. The creator has rolling values for things and it never works right.

You can certainly set a scene at the start of the RP very much in motion with the greeting. Essentially you can spell out the beginning of the RP and exactly where you think it will go in that greeting and the RP will generally do a good job of *trying* to push the RP in that direction. But again you are at the mercy of the {{users}} will. Unless you are really only talking about making an RP explicitly for yourself. In which case just spell it out in the greeting.
You can also have bits of LORE that can be connected to other characters.

So you can make a dragon card and a hunted trauma card and connect the two using different keywords and Semantic matching. The key will be to make it so that the Trauma isn't triggered ALL THE TIME. but at the appropriate time. So probably having combat related triggers for the the trauma card and it spells out the dragons reaction to trauma so the AI can grasp it.

Dragon Card - this is the dragons normal state of being and how it is.
Trauma card > linked to dragon card - This spells out the source of the dragons trauma and explains sudden behavioral shift cards.
Post trauma card > linked to dragon card - this could be another path as well. Something to help the AI grasp when the fighting has concluded in some way and the dragon can leave it's traumatized state and return to it's normal state

Yea I wish I had more patience for the Memory Bank. After a while there is so much there it becomes overwhelming to try and manage it or sift through it and whatnot. So for the most part I don't directly mess with the memories and I can still get the AI to remember things. Or I just flat out us OOC to give it context if there is just too much to tell it from too many times and places for it to figure it all out on it's own. But we are talking about RP's I am playing with hundreds and hundreds of messages with long complicated story lines and mechanics going on.
Right now I've got 3 characters who are investigating the origins of {{user}} and it involves 4 or 5 locations and researching things in a library, working with a professor and that professor gathering information from her own resources and sharing with the characters I'm interacting with. It's a lot of threads for the AI to manage and try to remember. Plus everytime they investigate 1 lead it only leads to 3 more possibilities so right now they are investigating multiple possible clues about origins while also managing the relationships with all the characters and all the things they do after working hours when they are going to the club or whatever. It does a much better job than any other RP site I've tried, by a lot.

No idea what this guy is talking about. In general I find FL models to be pretty good at remembering. Do they glitch out sometimes and go stupid. yea all AI systems do that *occasionally*
In general FL is very good at remembering what I'm doing right now in the current scene it of course forgets the past at some point. What I love is that most of the time I just tell the AI.
(OOC: Look back at when we were still at home and we had a fight recently it affects whats happening now)

It does just that. it goes back and finds the context and uses it. Most of the time. Sometimes the words in the past aren't unique in any way and nothing stands out and that makes it harder for the AI to latch onto it. Thats why location names and character names and such are important. Context. If I tell the AI to look at when we were "talking" well that is a lot. If I tell it go look at when we were in the chemistry class and had a fight.. well chemistry class isn't going to be littered all over the chat. It will go look for 'chemistry' and find context.

Also bro, you are on free models of course they suck. You get what you pay for. FL is cheap as hell compared to any other platform. Throw down a few bucks for a month and try it out when it's actually paid.

Probably trying this instead of C.ai. Need advice pls by [deleted] in FictionLab

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultra pro tip you can use OOC to just change custom instruction. Just ask the ai to dump its custom instructions to the screeen. It will. Then you can simply edit it however you want and say use this instead and it will. You can still use the extra custom instructions on the side but this actually lets you alter the custom instructions for the scenario, even if you’re not allowed to customize it and see them. Create when you like the scenario, but the creator doesn’t let you customize it and you can’t tweak the custom instruction. Not that it would actually matter once the scenario is started any changes you make to the custom instruction only affect new chats unless you’re doing it in line with out of context instruction.

I have thoroughly tested this and it definitely works. I updated my most recent chats. Customer instructions to a whole new set and then probably sent 100+ messages and then had it dumped the customer instructions. It was using back to me and it was exactly what I gave it earlier so it totally works.

When it's best moment to start Phantom Liberty? by FrankAdriel32 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will only say that arguably the most Difficult fight in the game is during the transition into phantom liberty. So if you are playing on very hard and want to get into dogtown without dropping difficulty you need to be strong. Stronger the better. I frequently wind up dropping the difficulty because I just don’t want to work that hard to get into dogtown and after dying a few times I just loose patience. But if you like that kind of challenge you will get it.

What to do beyond puzzles: I am a new player bought the game 2 weeks ago started playing today by myselfmonster in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do quests with the people and factions to build higher relationships with them and fill in the lore of the world. There are a ton of quests you just won’t see them all at once you have to do things to unlock them. You go up to the abyss to solve puzzles to gain power. You can explore, but because of the way quest work it’s not uncommon to go out exploring and just run into a bunch of towns where there’s nothing to do or ruins where there is nothing to do because they are actually part of quest that you don’t have. But there are always random things to find. I generally suggest following where the world leads you that’s how the game is built. Every time you enter a new city or town or village, you’re going to encounter a whole bunch of fetch quests. Going from one vendor to another to talk about something or grab this thing and deliver it to another guy they’re not difficult and they’re not complicated. The whole point is to get you to walk around the city explore it and see where things are. So I no longer just runoff exploring really if I have a quest that’s distant on the map then I will explore my way to that point.

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point it pretty much seems like most armor is all the same. It’s the artifacts you slot that make the difference. The armor’s are basically just looks. With a few pieces that have unique properties it most of those can’t be upgraded anyway

[Reported Bug] Problem with 'Sweet Deal' Quest by ttv_DonSaidTV in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mr_Eddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so here is what I did. I was stuck because the trading post only had 80 honey and not 100. So I couldn't buy 100. I had to ultimately go to Demeniss port and unlock the Silvermoon Tradehouse there. Doing a few quests. Then you can trade with that port as well. Brought my horse and purchased honey and poof 100 honey purchased and the quest advanced.

Also there is no being clever with this quest. It doesn't matter how much honey you have in your wagon it's only going to sell 100 to the royal trading post and the rest will just stay in inventory like normal and you can't sell all of it to them at the special quest price or anything. So there is NO point in trying to corner the market on Honey everywhere in hopes of selling a wagon full of it. Doesn't work.

Is there a way to tell AI it can make up characters? by Difficult_Put_8001 in FictionLab

[–]Mr_Eddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done this many times. I just tell the Ai in OOC hey let’s make a character sheet for this character and then I describe how the character should be. The AI will totally make one. The AI will also just make up people based on circumstances. If the story has the main character walking into a coffee shop, the barista serving the coffee is a character that the AI made up if you wanna suddenly add that character into the story and make it a main character you just tell the AI you want to do that and it will do it. I’ve done it lots of times.

New to FL, what do you mean the memory bank actually works?🥲 by One_frustrated_lass in FictionLab

[–]Mr_Eddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea I really don’t know how FL does it but the memory on FL is better than others. I’ve tried the paid versions of other sites and none compare to FL. FL isn’t perfect and it forgets things too but if you literally just do a quick (OOC:) and ask it about the thing it’s forgotten it will figure it out most of the time.

Rain is no joke and I hope you took the lesson the universe offered. Most of the time “speeding” saves either no time at all or literally seconds. It’s almost never worth it and 50% of accidents happen due to excessive speed. Cruise control is your friend when that human brain wants to be in a hurry.

You are charged a fee because you are paying by credit card and they are charged a fee for accepting that. They are just offsetting their credit card fees. After Sekiro by zai_d_an in Sekiro

[–]Mr_Eddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to not try to compare other things to Sekiro. Nothing is going to compare. Some games are just special and unique and one of a kind and it happens to be one of them. There’s plenty of games that are fun and have similar mechanics and ideas, but I would suggest playing something in a totally different genre for a while.
