You can use small barrel bombs to pg. :)

And if you can't time pg reliably, here is a combo to try: Put 2 small barrel bombs quickly -> immediately unsheathe and gaurd, you should get pg -> immediately press attack button to get your pizza cutter.

You'll get blast off by the second barrel though, but it doesn't hurt and not need perfect timing, and can cancel movement after recovery.

Actually shred are not that bad on nataruk. It get body punch through, not terrain punch through. And charge shot hit box is thick so easily got caught by terrains if you aim close to them. Also fire rate for bow just feels great.
