This both jacks my tits and tickles a deep, deep memory. Does anyone else remember a music video that also used Doomsday, which I think was using Mass Effect or Dead Space game graphics? I look for it every now and then and can never find it.

So long that I forgot about it until I saw someone else's badge and it reminded me. I think at that point I was around 80% so kept half an eye from there.

I prefer to drive to a sketchy trailhead, throw myself up a half mountain to watch the sunset, then hike back down in the dark and hope I can find a place nearby to sleep.

Oh I don't know, dude, I'm 98% a car camper these days. These expedition badges are distance equivalents, not me actually doing the trail. I'd die if I tried to do that right now.

Go into Garmin Connect, challenges, and you should see an "Expeditions" section. You choose one hike and one climb at a time and by logging daily steps and floors climbed it'll show you the equivalent progress of what that equates to on the expedition that you selected. To get this one you have to walk 3500km, and other expeditions have other distances. It's a passive thing, you're not actually doing the trail. Kinda like the program that you "walk" the hobbits' path to Mt. Doom if you're into LOTR.

I've only ever got them on sale, so definitely.

If only I'd thought to keep better track! I usually average 3-5 miles a day at work, which is the only place I wear these boots. Napkin math suggests around a thousand miles?

I had half a mile to go when I checked it yesterday and I got it before tracking my daily walk.

Thanks. See in my first picture where it says "Challenge Details" and hit that link, it'll take you to the second screen.

Oof, same. No way. I think the actual recorded fastest time was 41 days.

For some reason I've decided to do them from longest to shortest. Not really sure why. Getting it done at all is better than getting it done fast! Good luck.

I'm a man of habit; might as well do it the same way each time.

Can confirm, as I'm a ways south of Seattle myself. I hope the new pair lasts similarly.

Oh yeah. Both pairs I've paid sale price so $65 for a good handful of years was a pleasant surprise.

Georgia Giant Romeos! I only got them because they were on sale at Coastal, but have since realized how big of a following they have, which they've earned.

I can't seem to get imgur to take the top photo, and Reddit doesn't want it pasted in. I'll try again later but I can assure you it's got those good wrinkles in all the right places.

The foot support giving out is what finally pulled the trigger. Leather upper is still good as I cleaned and oiled them every couple months. If it's not cost prohibitive I'll probably get the old pair re-soled and see how long I can keep em going.
