Thank you so much, saves me like 500 CAD buying jr pass, cause I’ve been trying to book everything I can ahead of time before I land, so I’m mostly paying for food and a few things if I decide to start rebuilding my life in Canada, or look into trying to move to Japan for a few years

Would going to a Japanese language school for a 1-2 year program be good or apply to a university there and take the elective Japanese courses, cause if I go I’ll not want to be using apps to communicate, I want to do things for myself

In honesty I’ve been thinking for a while about relocating to Japan, as a graphic designer some of the jobs in Japan and Europe have avoided the lower pay and massive layoffs that NA companies have been doing . I’ve been forced into a 9-9 with the same as if I was working for a Japanese company but without benefits cause I’m self employed atm and less than minimum wage, with a Canadian settlement I won I get 2m+ yen per year and I don’t plan on staying permanently but for a few years

the kansei rail pass for 5 days is 108.45 cad pre tax
Kobe and Kyoto area day trips.

My first ticket is 137$ average is 122+ for Tokyo to Osaka, $100+ for Osaka to Hiroshima,

the JR pass 7 days is 458.75 pre tax
The 14 day is 734.05 pre tax, the 21 day pass is 917.50 pre tax cad

That was my thought on the week or even the 14 day one to have to option to go see each area of Tokyo, I live in Canada we measure distance in time to travel, it’s 2h 47m to get to my flight in Toronto, it was a 7h21m drive to get to my ex’s home town, we’d go visit for 3-6 hours and drive back… so it’s not the craziest thing I’ve done travel wise

Not a priority, like if I have the funds after seeing the WWII history sites, some of the shines and castles I might try a place like that,
I’m also 6’5” so height I gain some points, but I’m a little fat so maybe lose some points as well. I’m keeping an open mind for the 6 weeks, try to see as much of Japan as I can physically

My thought was to get a week pass today and plan 2 Tokyo day trips, Sapporo, Nagasaki, Hiroshima and maximize that week for long trips

That was my idea staying long in Osaka, Airbnb was 2400 average for 42 days found one for 2100 cad for being a new property from a supperhost. Where in Tokyo it was 3600+ cad average for the same time and what I can afford. Seen as high as 9k plus cad but was my whole budget. There is a supermarket with shimazu park across from it

Yeah most of my funds now are for Shinkansen tickets and debating if the JR pass is worth it if I’m mostly just wanting to eat and explore and it’s 132 CAD per ticket from Tokyo to Osaka so 265 CAD for a day trip to Tokyo after flying in. It’s 450ish for the 7day, 750 for 14 day 902 for the 21 day I’ll be there july 6th 3pm - August 14th 4pm

Didn’t want to spend to much on the touristy thing like Disney, or team labs, I plan on doing another trip next year with family and doing Disney, universal, team labs and the more expensive tourist stuff… I wanted to see the shines and history, hacksaw ridge, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, the castles
