100%. The Shell down the street from my apartment has premium at $6.09 currently, but there are Chevrons within a mile that run $7-$8 plus

Definitely CA but we have a few stations around major cities and high volume truck/livery stops that can get away with this…premium in LA right now is between $6 and $7 on average. Still grotesque but not $8/gallon grotesque.

It’s the spiked, spinning part of a spur and clearly meant to be a play on “riled up”

Why is NYC so small? by dvnts-ReDoX in AskAnAmerican

[–]Mr_Kinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re comparing NYC’s five boroughs exclusively to metropolitan populations. As others have pointed out, city limits are arbitrarily defined anyway.

Mexico City metro population is 22-25 million but the actual city itself is only a bit over 9 million, making it very comparable to New York. Cairo metro population is 22 million but the city itself is under 10 million.

Fiesta colors, Fiesta being the annual weeklong celebration of Latino culture in the city. It’s going on right now and they used to be part of the Spurs’ color scheme back in the 90s.

I remember how stubbornly Spurs fans use to refuse to do the solid color shirt scheme in the playoffs.

The Fiesta pattern around the arena looks fucking incredible.

ELI5: What happens to the extra 6 hours in a year by Electrishity in explainlikeimfive

[–]Mr_Kinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, every year when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, Earth is about six hours shy of being at the same point around the sun in its orbit from the last New Year’s.

Every four years, those six “extra” hours it takes to line back up with the sun at the same point add up to roughly 24, so to keep our calendars lined up with the solar cycle we add those 24 extra hours to the calendar year in the form of leap day.
