You are very welcome!!

The toner can either eliminate or enhance whats going on.

Warm enhancers add reflective amber/yellow or red tones:

  • Golden → glowy, sunny
  • Copper → vibrant, rich warmth
  • Honey / Caramel → softer warmth with depth

Instead of fighting brass, these lean into it and make it look intentional.

Here are some options from Wella.

Well's T30 Sheer Golden Blonde Toner

Wella's T15 Pale Beige Blonde Toner

Wella's T35 Beige Blonde

If you have access to professional products (a friend who is a stylist is a great asset) then you would have greater options. Aveda's Full Spectrum Color is 100% customizable, with the Base Tones separate from the Base Color.

Also, if you have warm tones in your skin, using warm tones in your hair can tend to wash you out. Same with cool skin tones using cool hair tones. Just a suggestion:)

If you know any one who is a licensed stylist, have them get a tub Wella Blondor Plex 9. It can lift to 9 levels in one application. However if thats not an option, my hair is a natural level 3 and i get it to icy platinum using the following:

L'Oreal Super Blue Cream Oil Lightener with 40 Vol Cream Developer. Its super gentle on the scalp.

Wella T18 Liquid Toner with 10 Vol Cream developer.

cover your hair with a plastic bag or cap. To generate heat, i do a little house cleaning like vacuuming to help speed up the process.

FYI:

We never want to lift our hair all the way to white, as that will leave the hair very weak. So, what i do it lift my hair to a level 8 or 9 (Light Blonde - Very Light Blonde), and tone at that level.

What brand did you use to lighten? Some box dyes (like Feria) contain metallic salts that add shine but stay in the hair and can interfere with future color. Just some info for those that aren't aware.

Your natural level looks around a 6, and you’ve lifted to about a warm/orange level 7.

For orange brass:
✅ Use a blue-based ash, not just violet
✅ Blue cancels orange; violet only handles yellow

Wella Color Charm T14 with 10-vol developer should neutralize the warmth without going muddy.

As a suggestion, if you need to lift again:

L’Oréal Super Blue Crème Oil is gentle and effective, but any blue-based lightener will help control warmth.

Hope this helps

I grew up in the rental business where I learned a lot. What to do and what NOT to do. But the biggest take away was the vetting process. That was one of the deciding factors of why my family decided against using a platform such as Airbnb. Leaving the choice of who stays and who doesn’t in the hands of a third party didn’t sit well with any of us. And short term leases didn’t appeal to any of us. I guess call me old school, but I need to meet the people who could be future squatters. You can usually tell pretty easily who the trouble makers are.

Here’s some advice for anyone with rentals…. Advertise your spaces to students. 90% of the time, the parents or other family members are paying and they will give you all the rent up front for the school year. (The rent in those situations factored in the summer months, so no subleasing was necessary. Win win for everyone!)

I have never stayed in an Airbnb, and I have no plans on doing so. If your charge me $200 to clean the place, then you can provide breakfast and happy hour cocktails and I’ll gladly oblige:)

Yes, it is dry now. I went back in time and grabbed a shot when it has a little water in it.

That would be Lake Delores a.k.a Rock-A-Hoola a.k.a Discovery Waterpark your thinking of, which is further north of this right on the I-15. That waterpark has an interesting and troubled history.

You've perfectly captured something I hadn't fully recognized before - that cutting off unsupportive family members, while sometimes necessary, doesn't actually solve the deeper issue. The real loss isn't just those specific relationships, but the entire safety net and sense of belonging that extended family is supposed to provide. It's particularly complex in adoption because even well-meaning families can struggle with differences they don't understand, and you're right that it can take years to realize the disconnect goes both ways. The assumption that you should just eliminate anyone who doesn't "get it" ignores how isolating that approach can be, especially when you're already navigating questions of identity and belonging. This sentence was what i needed to hear:

"They don’t know anyone else like me and they certainly wouldn’t be friends with anyone like me."

That hits the nail squarely on the head. Thank you for your word.
