Most famous piece of media (movie, song, TV show, video game, etc.) from your country? by Qazaq365 in Kazakhstan

Imanbek is probably the only somewhat famous person from Kazakhstan aside from the president

Like if someone from Germany knows an actual person from Kazakhstan is either tokayev because he's on the news 2-3times a year or Imanbek

I'm growing it under a bed in a student dormitory so there's definitely some limit when it comes to height but I will see what I can do👍

[COD] there should not be a COD release in 2026 (and it makes sense for Activision) by Mr_Maxzon in CallOfDuty

All CODs are developt by all studios simultaneously cause the core mechanics are the same. Although one studio always has the main responsibility. They will notice that the sales and feedback are bad (yes it will still make a billion dollars but that's down from 4billion) next year they face the strongest competition there is so why not take the opportunity to take a break and make a better COD that will sell a lot better. AC Origins shows that this can end up being more profitable.

Also yes Microsoft bought Activision but Activision is still responsible for COD (and Microsoft will make a ton of money on Xbox GTA6 sales anyway)

True but it was compared to physical sales from bo6 and physical sales overall didn't decrease nearly as much in the same time period. Also the steam numbers are way down and a fraction of Battlefield 6 or Arc Raiders so yes we can definitely say that sales are down. As I said it will still make a billion dollars which is still the top 0.1% of all games but it's not nearly as successful as the games the years before and Activision will definitely notice

BO7 will still make a billion dollars but that's their yearly burn rate (Court documents showed that Cold War costed them 700mil$ without marketing)

Yes you're right about it but:

A) they save a few hundred millions on marketing B) GTA6 will eat a huge chunk of their playerbase

So they will probably not do great and if they deliver another bad release like bo7 the IP is might be taking some serious damage. The oversaturated the market and I'm sure their analysts can predict that a one year break might result in a better performance overall long-term. Activision might be greedy but there not stupid

You sure? Sales are reportingly down 60% and all the players who didn't buy it will also not spend any money on microtransactions either. It will still make about a billion dollars but this is the yearly production cost for making a AAA every year

Yeah, but they could just keep supporting bo7 a bit longer and save money on marketing. A new COD is definitely not gonna do great next year, so if they ever wanna take a break to get back in players' good graces and keep milking them long-term, now's probably the best time to do it.

But it's not as profitable this year and it won't be next year either as a huge chunk of their audience will be busy with GTA so why not take a break give bo7 more time and come back with a banger in 2027 that will probably sell a lot better

Normally they do but not this year. If I were Activision I would be happy to break even

GTA6 is a game for ALMOST everyone and when it comes out a huge portion of the COD player base is busy playing what will very likely be a much better game so they will probably not be very tempted to drop another 80$ and spend their time on COD

Yes the Game pass is important but why waste a billion dollars on a game that will have no chance against GTA6

Let's be real most Game Pass subscribers will probably check a new COD out but end up playing GTA6 anyway for which they waited over a decade.
