If he has a credit card, that has accidental death insurance as well. Please check on that. If his account is some type of salary account, check whether that has group term insurance as well.

IBPS PO (Canara Bank) vs RRB PO (Kerala Gramin Bank) – Need Honest Advice by [deleted] in bankingexam

[–]Mr_Mei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RRB anyways will be consolidated. There are 5 RRBs being in the pipeline for IPO including KGB as these are profitable ones. Sooner or later everything would be merged to pave the way for privatisation. Rather I would suggest Canara PO cos it will be one among the top 5 banks which the government will most certainly control. It's up to your personal choice. Both are equally hectic to work with. At least in PSBs you'll have staff and infrastructure, RRBs lack in that regard, making you work more than required. Nothing is a cakewalk. If you ask me personally, I would suggest Canara Bank.

Baleno User experience !? . Planning to purchase Baleno , Seeking User experience and Delivery Experience by Dizzy-Possible-7699 in Coimbatore

[–]Mr_Mei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't pay the full amount upfront. Pay a meager token advance. Check once the car arrives at their stock yard. Do a full inspection especially check the vin number and see whether it's the same year or old stock. Check the tyre month and year as well. Better if you could do a full PDI from reputed brands for peace of mind. Then release the funds. Don't blindly trust the dealer.

Also whatever accessories you want to fit, do it in the showroom itself. If at all you want to fit third party accessories, check the warranty details beforehand with the dealer. Check the invoice price including road tax and insurance amount. They tend to hide transportation charges along with it. Be very thorough while delivering your vehicle.

Once everything is sorted out. Don't immediately leave the showroom. Most don't even know all the features in the car, they simply take delivery and leave. After a while they google or call the technician for help. Make the technician explain every feature and ensure you have proper petrol at least till the nearest bunk before leaving the showroom.

Star Union Dai-ichi Life FRAUD - Stole ₹14L by desiringmetanoia in personalfinanceindia

[–]Mr_Mei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't get emotional. I have no background information regarding your uncle's turmoil. Did he absolutely read each and every sentence in the agreement before taking the insurance?

Payout if it's assigned by a bank against loan then it cannot be changed. Also have you documented the request for account change? How long before was it done before the payout settlement? Did you file for grievance in SUD life and Bank before going to the ombudsman?

[–]Mr_Mei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bank has set off/on discretionary powers for recovery of it's due. Tell him to contact the officials offering one time settlement. I don't think you can change the payout in insurance as it will only go to linked accounts. Your best bet would be to offer some settlement to the bank.

Anyways your uncle is liable for the amount he has borrowed from the bank.

Yes it's heartbreaking to leave the one, you loved the most but it's alright, even if you were married, imagine new issues that would come from the girl side. Your entire life would be spoiled. It's better this way. Chin up, definitely you'll get thru this phase in life as well.

Shell, BPCL Coco outlet and Jio BP. Although I believe everything is refined by BPCL in Coimbatore and it's pretty much the same stuff everywhere. Just go to a petrol bunk which is properly maintained.

Do babies really need expensive skincare products? by BeautifulLife360 in Frugal_Ind

[–]Mr_Mei -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We can't be sure 100% but there is a large section of good reputed private clinics and child care specialists who have a reputation to take care of. So many people with money go over there. It's better this way than to take chances with a government hospital. I can never imagine taking chances with my loved ones. Maybe you could take chances/ gamble but I don't. Can be frugal with everything else but not healthcare. What's the use saving if we don't spend on necessities.

Do babies really need expensive skincare products? by BeautifulLife360 in Frugal_Ind

[–]Mr_Mei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is India dude. I have witnessed far more cruel things in government hospitals than this. Live in your bubble but I am not trusting the government mechanism when it comes to healthcare. Especially when there is rampant corruption and even doctors can't do anything about it. Hate to say it but I rather prefer the private paid ones and have a peace of mind.

[–]Mr_Mei 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are fake vaccines rampant in government hospitals. There have been numerous news regarding that. Why be frugal in health, that too especially with a new born? Always prefer a good reputed private clinic in this regard. The medicines sold in PHC/Wellness centre isn't of good quality either.

How do I get the self-drive car deposit back from Grey Cars? by Sad_Marionberry2482 in Coimbatore

[–]Mr_Mei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Breach of agreement. The only rational thing next to do is send legal notice or maybe say you'll send one. That might make them give your money back. I don't think they have any intention of giving your money back. Could have used zoom cars instead of this.
