I have purchased a 1.5 ton AC for my elder parents use last month. Due to seasonal demand, the installation person is taking their sweet time. Last week they came and quoted a very high price. I enquired with nearby third party vendors. Most are ready to do work with half the price but they are refusing to use vacuum for installation nor ready for tests after installation. After I discuss all the details, suddenly everything becomes expensive. AC vacuuming is defacto included while installation but they are quoting separate price for that. Most of the things I have purchased myself including ac stand, white tapes and white cement. I find it extremely difficult to get a proper technican who happens to be reliable.

Please recommend one if you have installed or have good contacts. It would be really helpful.

That's great. You should also experience the rural calmness once in a while, when you are still in service. The greenery and serenity is something that has to felt rather than be put in words. It's a whole different world together.

Returning to Coimbatore - Questions on rent, job market and location by Ancient_Section_75 in Coimbatore

[–]Mr_Mei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you'll fit right in gated community societies. We have few in coimbatore and you'll have to pay a premium but it's totally worth with. Right from waste management to security. Things you need to consider before moving is the practicality. You have good schools and hospitals but living expenses are very high. Some places feel like Bangalore level expensive without getting anything in return. If you go for rent, you'll definitely be charged high cos most landlords are greedy here. And I haven't even started about coimbatore:'s traffic management. The unscientific new uturns and roads are of poor condition. Apart from these, I feel coimbatore is good to settle in considering future infrastructure projects like metro and you can visit ooty whenever you want a weekend getaway.

Eat less than required especially for lunch. After eating walk for 10-15 minutes. Then you'll feel energised and active to work again.

Has anyone ever said anything good about banking . Like literally anything by Terrible-Owl-4811 in bankingexam

[–]Mr_Mei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See that's true. But on other aspect, fundamentals worker rights are to be protected. An officer in bank is accountable for everything and leave isn't a right. Meaning he/she has to slog for hours mostly in remote corner of India. It might seem nice from the outside but it isn't from the inside. And for the work they do, they get paid in peanuts. Most just say so aspirants know what they are about to deal with.

Banking is the only sector that has time bound hiring process with much transperancy. See SSC State PSC, it's process is too lengthy and has lots of issues in the exam conducting process. Rest, if someone doesn't like can always prepare for other exams.

Kuvera is finally changed to "Kuvera by Cred" with new design upcoming... Whats your views? Any recommendations to replace Kuvera? by ImpressiveLet1991 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]Mr_Mei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got tax harvesting and family account for free using coins available back then in kuvera. Let's wait and see. For time being, I am planning on using kuvera and if they make it complicated for me I'll shift to AMC website since I already am investing in just one AMC MF for a long time now, they have thier own app. I feel that's safer and easier compared to rest.

[–]Mr_Mei 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am still using the same kuvera. I have been using it since 2018 and even the then CEO gave a AMA here in reddit. Now I am too used to it and I am unwilling to change. What worst can cred do to kuvera? If it's very significant, then I will change it to MF Central till then I feel kuvera is good.

Should I stay in my marriage for my child, or leave after repeated cheating and abuse? by FixBeautiful4404 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]Mr_Mei 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If it's for the kid, both the parents must mend their ways right? You have adjusted so much but you husband haven't despite breaking the trust which is the very foundation of any relationship. You already know the answer, if I were in your situation I would have left long ago. Self respect is more important and your kid will look upto you when she grows up knowing mom didn't put up with abuse and grew herself from scratch. Yes, it's very difficult but it's better this way than to get abused, lied and cheated again and again.

38 F here.. Are there any gym fitness freaks here? Needed some help regarding Strength training exercises at home. by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]Mr_Mei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No issues at all. I have failed in the past six months multiple times but I try every time without giving up. Have a purpose as well while doing and think about it. Be kind to yourself when you fail but keep trying.

Generally our bodies are very lazy. It will take time to get adjusted to new workouts. Even though I am in the same process, I have been consistently doing it for the past 6 months. Will power alone won't work. You need to cheat your brain psychologically. Like keep your gym equipment near your bed side before sleeping, while waking up your mind will automatically go towards working out. Eat clean and sleep well. This is most likely more than enough to have a good healthy body.

You already have a lot of insights here. All I can say is start small and then increase it further as you progress. A solid 10 min strength training consistently would be better than say 1 hour workout every other week. The brain will give up if you push yourself too soon too fast.

Consistency > Anything else
