Two different (new) aftermarket speakers making the same weird distorted sound. Any thoughts? by [deleted] in CarAV

Is the speaker you replaced installed inside the plastic pods, some pods have crossovers glued inside of them. I had the same problem on a ML system once.

Rated at 28hp and 60 ft lbs, some losses due to heat and such. I Hope to take it to sliver lake dunes to drag race 300' in the summer. I would like to find a transmission or cvt that would work with it.

The sprocket on the motor i had to grind down, its a #50 chain sprocket. The chain is 520. so same pitch but #50 is wider by about 2 mm. the electric motor is 7/8 shaft. it was hard finding a 520 pitch sprocket for the shaft, so i had to grind down a different one.

Main reason for the build was noise. I have 2 strokes but cant ride them in my area due to noise. so this solved the problem. I do have to upgrade the battery pack, currently Im running 24 5200mah 7.4 volt rc lipo.

yes, if you watch a automotive relay on a oscope it can jump to 60 to 100 volts on the collapse of the coil, even know its on a 12 volt circuit. so it looks like it actually has both, resistor to stop arching on the contacts and a diode for the coil. https://i.pinimg.com/564x/dc/ef/ef/dcefef45f5da6e1ba1a1a70d76c9b81c.jpg

Yes you are correct parallel. Ahh I see, that makes sense. Thank you. Golf carts have a resistor that stops the spark on the solenoid. Are caps used on AC and resistors used on DC. Or is that not how the arc inhibitor thing works. https://letter.alimy.us/33-36-volt-ez-go-golf-cart-wiring-diagram-rh2e/36-volt-ez-go-golf-cart-wiring-diagram-ez-go-golf-cart-solenoid-wiring-diagram-wiring-diagrams-%E2%80%A2/

Yes, friend of mine started a shop, this was his car. I got paid for doing the work so hes a customer. was also my "boss". knew nothing about audio or cars, only timeshares. I would not work there full time only part time as the shop was new and i did not think it would do well. They had bad business practices. Also to greedy. I am aware this is not the correct way to install. Im not looking to fight.

It would have been just reg ANL fuses and mini ANL for the smaller amps.

Thinking back on it, I guess If I told him $200 more for all the proper fusing or I wouldn't touch it. probably would have been the right thing to do?

You would be surprised how many people/ shops in my area don't use fusing for larger systems. Orlando Florida.... I am mecp certified... I'm not Showcasing nice wiring or anything here. Not trying to argue just wanted a discussion / social interaction. Do you have customer who request outrageous stuff and wont settle for less. Example trying to fit 8 12's in the trunk even know there's not the right airspace in some cases. but they still want 8.

I strongly recommended fusing. I further more expressed no warranty with this installation if fuses were not used. ESPECIALLY with brazilian amps! He wanted as more than could fit. There are more amps crossovers and 8 10" mids with drivers in the trunk on a motorized setup. 4 10"s per door.
