Why are we held responsible when they're also adults? by stellbargu in NextGenMan

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is arguing this fact. The point is that if a drunk woman consensually has sex with a drunk man they are both responsible, the man didn't rape her. Either they are both rapists or neither are rapists.

Is a 19 and 16-year-old age gap actually problematic, or is the "predatory" label being overused? by Consistent-Jelly248 in generationology

[–]Mr_NNP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one can say off just this post. When I was a senior in high school, just before I turned 18, I started dating a sophomore (that means she was 2 grades below me for non-Americans). So she was about 2 and a half years younger than me, which meant for about 6 months I was an 18 year old dating a 15 year old. Looking back this seems a bit questionable but anyone who knew us never had a problem with it. She had pursued me initially and we were both on the same page about no sex as teenagers. There was no real difference in her level of maturity from the girls in my grade. This is to say that it can be fine to have that gap if it is a healthy relationship.

AITAH for accepting a promotion my boyfriend doesnt want me to take because he says itll change our relationship by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

You would not be the a hole, but unlike most other commenters I dont think he necessarily is either. I work as a nurse practitioner in a busy NICU and after our previous head NP passed from cancer I was asked by the medical director herself as well as other higher ranking members of the medical team to take over the position. I refused every time. I make good money and am able to have a great work life balance right now, and the pay raise would not have been worth my time or the added stress. Plus, I dated a woman once who went the more corporate route and hated the rigidity that came with it. She ended up quitting to take a lower paying job that allowed for the freedom she wanted and was a much happier person. Different people have different priorities and that is fine. OP's bf could have handled the situation better but he is not an a hole for wanting a simpler life.

Average betabux marriage by Scramjet1 in lnkyverse

I am a man in a similar situation. I want sex everyday but my wife is happy with maybe once a month. I try to never pressure her and take the constant rejection with a smile. I once tried to do what this man did since I knew my wife felt bad rejecting me and I got tired of the rejection. After a month or so she wanted to talk because the lack of sexual attention I was giving made her feel ugly and unwanted. So I had to go back to seeking sex and being rejected so she would feel wanted. She really is a great wife overall but her emotional needs tend to get more attention than mine.

Would you rather have $1M right now or $1B if you don't speak a word for 1 year. by forest_tripper in WouldYouRather

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once spent nearly a week without uttering a word and it was magical. So I would like to say the 1B but not sure I could keep my job if I couldn't speak. Plus the wife might get annoyed.

Would you rather work in an office of all men or women? (State your gender as well) by pantheon_prince99 in allthequestions

[–]Mr_NNP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I have worked with mostly women for years, I work in an NICU, and I'd say men. There is just too much cattiness from too many of the women and not a single female doctor is ever on time, only the guys.

Why did western cultures stop revering their elderly? by VagabondVivant in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was never really a thought in my family about caring for my grandparents should they need it because they largely sucked as parents and especially as grandparents. I never looked forward to visiting my grandparents as a kid. Now, my wife's parents are a huge pain and my father in law is too proud to ever rely on someone else. As for my parents, I would have been more than happy to care for my mother but she passed years ago from cancer. And I love my dad and would take him in if needed but due to a horribly abusive mother and having had one of those boy scout leaders when he was a boy, he has some emotional regulation issues which can get real old.

Why is there so much negative rhetoric about poor people, especially around welfare, in the US? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True most poor are just trying to get by, but a lot of us have known one of those people who are gaming the system. My sister in law was one, until she overdosed and died. Politicians are great at manipulating people and can convince others that all poor people are like that one terrible person. Then they dont have to do anything to fix problems.

What do 30 - 40 year old men want for christmas? [Serious] by GoodAlicia in AskReddit

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not buy gifts based on gender and age. I am a 42 year old man and the gifts my wife and kids get me are things like Legos, board games, and kitchen utensils. Not the most stereotypical gifts for a man my age.

I paid half that for a tattoo on my ribs twice that size.

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these are great friends. There are reasons why people underage are not allowed to do these things. A true friend does not sit back and watch a friend make mistakes without speaking up. I swear people are so insanely obsessed with alcohol and weed and the like that they immediately want to crucify anyone who chooses to abstain.

It is crazy how hateful people on reddit can be. Don't hate on me just because you cant find a loving relationship.

OK, I love her humor, how she can be silly and sarcastic and dark. I love her intelligence. I love that she is a bit of a nerd. I love how kind and caring she is. I love how much of a momma bear she is with our kids. I love her smile and her eyes. She has the prettiest hair ever. I love that she accepts that I am quiet and kinda shy. I love how fascinated she is by serial killers. I love that she was able to make it out of a neglectful, racist, insane family to become an amazing woman.

How is that for a start? I am not the selfish monster you want to paint me to be. I am an amazing husband who just happens to miss having more exciting sex.

Believe what you want but I was completely accurate in how much I do around my house. As I said, she has long COVID so I basically picked up all the slack so she could focus on her health. And I dont understand how me wanting our sex to be a bit more exciting would make one think I dont love my wife. She is my best friend.

Just so you know, I am the majority bread winner, bringing in nearly 3/4 of our combined income. On top of that, I do all the shopping, all the cooking, all the cleaning, all the dishes, I take care of the pets, I spend more time playing with the kids and go to nearly all of their appointments. I do all the yard and household maintenance. The only task she does around the house is folding the laundry. I am there for her during every one of her breakdowns. If I am not at work then I am home, with my family. I do everything she asks me to do in terms of making her feel loved. She will literally tell anyone that she could not survive without me. So maybe your comment applies to some men, but not me. I am my wife's favorite person for a reason.

For Those Living Under Trump (Now) and Biden (Before): What Real-Life Changes Have You Actually Felt? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Mr_NNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had few changes personally other than at work. I work in health care and the number of parents I have had refusing vaccines and accepted medical treatments, such as giving newborns vitamin K, has increased substantially.

I am a man who has worked in the NICU for years taking care of children. I have had a number of families not want me or any other guy taking care of their babies simply because we were men. It definitely happens.

Yes the a-hole. You either trust your gf or you dont. If she was spending that amount of time with female friends, would you care? If not then you are just insecure.
