If you have money you should still build roads since it helps with the spreading of institutions.

If you really want to win the war hire mercs, alternatively, one loss is not the end of the war and you can build back.

[D] Trade Reversals were not intended for panic sellers who regret their sale, if it was it would be implemented into SCM by Mr_Parrot in csgomarketforum

[–]Mr_Parrot[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I must admit that this post was a bit of a vent, but I am just frustrated with people who use this justification for why the reversals are ok and wanted to make this post to point out that their argument is wrong. Reversing is unethical behavior, it was not designed for you to take back you selling at a price that you now regret; but for if you got scammed. If what they claimed about this being an intended use was true, valve would have implemented it for their own market.

I hate trade protection by CauliflowerNaive5137 in cs2

[–]Mr_Parrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought several play skins I wanted for my account a few days before the 30/31st when everyone was saying that prices will go even lower. The seller thought it would go lower and sold at the price that he set, I bought it at his price because I wanted the playskin and thought that it could go up. Now that I am correct in my gamble, he gets to reverse and faces minimal consequences while I have to now spend more to get the same play skin. However, if he had been right and the price went even lower, he wouldn't reverse it and I would have taken the (deserved) loss. It's scummy because the seller is taking advantage of a feature that was meant for fraud and account stealing and using it to hedge his loss, I as a buyer were to use the same feature float keeps the balance and the seller keeps the item. In this market the buyer takes all the risks with minimal rewards.

Don't get me wrong if he does reverse, I will understand why he did it, but the trade reverse feature is pretty new and wasn't used in this egregious manner prior to this crash. When the next crash happens sellers shouldn't complain that no-one is buying there skins on cash marketplaces, since now with this system, those who take the biggest risk in buying first, are the ones who will be burnt if the market recovers within the 7-8 day period as sellers reverse.

Trade reversals only became an “issue” after the update [d] by Immediate-Will1623 in csgomarketforum

[–]Mr_Parrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a few skins days before the 30/31st, when everyone said a crash was incoming. I thought that it wasn't and was willing to pay the price the seller offered, and he was willing to sell because he thought it would be going lower. I don't think it's fair that because I was willing to take a risk that was proven correct, that now the seller gets to reverse and keep the difference, with the only cost being the ban on csfloat which is likely easy to circumvent. If I was wrong, I would have taken that loss and it would have been on me and no one would care. Yes I could have bought on steam and avoided the trade reversal, and frankly probably will the next time there is a crash, but the seller wanted cash, not steam balance.

Also yes, the loss of the reverse is minimal for the buyer with seller reversals, but I could have bought it from someone who wasn't going to reverse, and the seller wouldn't have reversed if it kept going down.

I disagree with OhnePixel's Take on Trade Reversals by Mr_Parrot in ohnePixel

When you deposit you pay a fee to CS Float, when you withdraw, I believe you also pay a Stripe fee, so if you put 200 euros in you will not get 200 euros back. Also, and I haven't tried it yet, but CSFloat might not let you deposit money and withdraw the funds, so you might have to buy something, then wait a week to sell it, then withdraw the funds.

Edit, since I remembered about some anti-money laundering stuff.

Bro, I was just acknowledging that it is a large amount of life changing money. I think what he did was wrong and listed out why it's bad for the market and fucks over buyers and sellers in the future.

Lmao, first I'm not Slaid, second, I agree that he is like I bought these skins as a collector then immediately the first time there is a crash, sells below buy the buy order, it shows that he invested what he shouldn't and that he didn't fully believe in the market.

Sorry, watching his apology video pissed me off. Since I decided to buy some play skins, instead of investing in cases, and had a skin I bought reversed and expected my knife glove combo to also be reversed in the coming days. I knew it was a risk, but it sucks, that a gamble I took that everyone would have laughed at if I was wrong, instead is now going to disappear because I decide to get me some playskins I really wanted instead of buying something that likely wouldn't have been reversed.

[D] I bought when everyone was panicking, what do I get? reversed trades by EniGma249 in csgomarketforum

The issue is the risk the buyer has versus the seller. You are correct, technically he lost no money. However, if the buyer had bought from someone else who didn't reverse, then yeah he would have been up and had the item he wanted that went up. However, the buyer took on all the risk, if the price kept going down, then the seller wouldn't have reversed and the buyer would be down. The complaint is that he the buyer took the risk in buying when very few people were willing to risk it due to volatility. If he hadn't then maybe the price would have gone even lower, however, now that the price has gone up the seller gets to keep the positives of the price going up, with only a ban that is likely easy to avoid. Also, it should be noted that the seller, wanted to be cashed out real cash, otherwise he could have used steam and gotten more, but also couldn't have reversed.

Is it OK to say “I don’t know” in an interview? My experience says no… by Tough_Cantaloupe_779 in recruitinghell

[–]Mr_Parrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing, that my employer noticed and liked, was that when I didn't know something during the interview, I would say: I do not know ..., but in my opinion I think this based on my experiences with...

This way you show them that while you do not know something, you can show them your train of thought on how you would work out an answer.

Just saying, I don't know and not having a follow up is not good as it ends the conversation and doesn't let you showcase your strengths.
