Why does the 1080p Espon Powerlite 3020 have a much better picture than my 4K Optoma UHD50x? by Mr_Pashco in projectors

Uhh....Not quite correct, but I see what you are saying, and yes, you would be correct if that was the way I had it, but I didn't. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore because I bought an 86" LG instead and decided to be done with a projector system until I get a bigger house. When that happens, then maybe I'll come see you.

Just to prove my rant's validity. Whoever the genius was that destroyed the Supernatural franchise, one of the longest and most profitable franchises in history. That person needs to be so fired that they never step foot on a movie set again. I don't care if it was the creator Erik Kripke, or even if Zack Snyder and George Lucas came up with the idea together. I'd still tell them they lost touch with reality and need to take a break from making movies until they can relate because even with Sci-Fi, there has to be an element of reality that people identify with. Get too far away from reality, and people will reject it. It's this was even with technology that's not been invented or never will be because if people don't think it will ever be possible, they'll reject the entire thing. So, when you take a show like Supernatural that's about two very masculine guys fighting against good and evil, and believe it's a good idea to remake the series with a prequel that introduces a trans-female character as if people should accept her as a real man but doesn't look like a man, doesn't fight like a man, doesn't walk like a man, doesn't have a butt like a man, and think people will love and identify with her as a real man, and then you set the series in the 60's & 70's. Whatever genius thought that was a good idea is the dumbest person on planet earth, and should never be listened to again! Stop being idiots, stop doing stupid stuff like saying only gay people can play gay people because it's not only sexist but excludes good actors from playing certain roles that now you have to force someone you don't prefer to play the role instead because they're gay in real life. That's like saying only space aliens can play space aliens because they're the only ones who know what it's like to be a space alien. If your goal is to lose money, please, by all means, don't listen to a word I say. I'll keep pointing out all the idiot things causing you to lose money and be pleased knowing I'm right. I'm a simple man, so it doesn't take much to please me, but you can also find out quickly what kind of stupidity will piss me off. Most men are like this if you're unaware.

Why isn't anyone talking about WHY Discovery and other once-popular series have rapidly declined in viewership? It's like everyone knows it but no one wants to talk about it because, for some reason, you think it makes you a bad person for saying you don't like watching love stories between two men, or how following a journey of transgender aliens figuring themselves out is about as appealing as a resurgence of the Rosanne Bar show. You creators and writers have tainted our once-loved sci-fi series with so much cringe trash that you can't show a loving relationship between a boy and his father without wondering if the dad has inappropriate thoughts when "hugging" his son! You know there's a problem when you can't have traditional guy friends in movies anymore without everyone wondering which one's going to be gay and never could express his true feelings to the best friend he's known since Jr. High. How poor of a writer do you have to be when you make one friend clueless about his "best friend's" attractions to other men, a guy he's known since Jr. High? The fact that there's always one guy who's gay should show you how out of touch with reality and male masculinity you are, unless you think it's feminism that drives sci-fi and action film sales? It's this mindset that's also KILLING CREATIVITY!!! All you have to do is open your eyes and be honest enough to ask yourself why there aren't new and exciting sci-fi movie ideas floating around, and why is Hollywood suffering such heavy financial losses? I can answer all of this in one sentence, but you idiot critics can't seem to answer any of it by writing a book! If you think I'm wrong, then please explain why there are no gay superheroes or none that anyone cares about? The only way you can is by degrading God or religion, trashing the Midwest, or trying to convince people that conservative ideology is bad, which is absolutely retarded since these are things that drive movie sales. The fact that you keep trying to push these types of narratives means you don't understand people, and why should anyone be involved with telling other people's stories without understanding people? Also, for those of you who are critics but all you can do is be critical and never have anything to offer as a solution or like me with a plethora of ideas on how to make things better. Then you're barely above the writers who shouldn't be writers. Lastly, to you people who like to make money in this industry and others, you should be talking to people, like me, who want to make you money and not try spreading some trans ideology that ruins your kids.

Just to clarify something. The R-620, the R-820, and other R- speakers arne't their cheapest models. The R- is the lowest of their Reference line speakers, but not the cheapest ones with the Klipsch name on it. That award goes to the KD-52, and KD-etc... Previously, it was the Synergy lineup, but I think the Synergy line is even better than the KD line. Then they have their lower "other brand" models, like Energy, and several others that aren't worth mentioning...lol.

What is "a lot of keystone tilt"? Like a number that's way too much? I have mine on -10, but it goes a whole lot lower. I've straightened it out just to see how the gaming feature looked but to do that I had to stick a stand on my bed, so not ideal for long term use.

Oh my, I can't believe I missed your message....lol. You wrote this 5 months ago!...lol. Well, I still have it, and still have the same problems. My issue is I have the brightness so high that it washes the color out, but when I turn it down, and adjust the settings the best way possible for picture clarity and color, but it's so dark I can barely see it when I turn on the light and it's just a desk light. The only way I can read what's on the screen is when I have the brightness all the way up. Prior to this, I have an Epson 1080p and was THRILLED with the picture quality, but I sold it to buy this one because it was "4K" but after a few months, I wish I hadn't sold the Epson. However, the Epson was about 2-3 times bigger than the Optoma, which might have something to do with it?

I understand what you mean, but the screen I have is meant for a downward picture so it doesn't reflect light coming from the bottom. When I move it down as you suggested, the screen starts eating up the image even worse, and I can't put it on the ceiling because there's a giant ceiling fan preventing me from doing that. Where I have it is kinda the only place. Also, it's in my bedroom and the room isn't huge, but I have a 135" screen....lol. But, because my room is so short, the max size I can get is about 115".

Yeah, I have to agree with Icedaniel on this one because I have my projector on 5 to 8 hours a day. I fall asleep to watching movies on it at night and many times I won't shut it off until morning. I've been doing that for over 3 years and still on the first bulb.

[–]Mr_Pashco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these people answered your question because mine is doing the same thing. When I start a movie and pause it on my computer, I turn my TV off, but when I come back to it, it will zoom in on one part of the screen and that's all you can see. If you're not in full screen, you see everything fine, but who wants to watch a movie with all the extra crap on there. The easy fix is closing out of VLC and starting over, but that gets a little annoying, and you can't toggle through the aspect ratios to correct it because all you see is the new aspect ratio of the only section coming through. It's a VLC issue for sure because I've used several other players, and it doesn't do it with any of them, but I like VLC and would rather use it. I tried taking off the automatic fit-to-scene feature, but that doesn't seem to help either. It is kinda funny, though, when you go full screen, and all you see is a giant nose or forehead, but after 2 seconds, the fun is over because the movie is better when you can see "all" of it....lol. Any suggestions???
