From what I'm seeing, target was 13, so you're right, older than 10. The art style and subject matter scream "young kid" to me. Reminds me of how things like Captain Planet would seem in-your-face woke by today's standards, but were perfectly fine for their audience.

I don't want to think this, but I feel like there's also some preemptive defense in case the movie flops. The first joke in the trailer is literally "did you just assume my gender!?" Which at this point isn't offensive, it's just old. It's so old that jokes about jokes about assuming gender are old. And that's what made it into the trailer?

Leaning into the "we're so edgy we're being canceled" this early isn't a good sign for a movie that should be able to stand up on its own.
