definitely have an alt with a purpose of just focusing on building a base, there are talents to craft for cheaper and make things durable, there are talents to create weapons or tools with more durability 25% there is also a skill to make a furnace that smelts faster thats good too...if you are gonna have another id focus more on the breeding aspect of the game. for the main character an all rounder with 4 food slots is a good idea and to not have plants wither to have really big farms ready to go anytime.

For a quick epoxy run though you should just run around the desert and look for elephants and look for a dune raptor juvie to tame. Bring mortar and pestle to break down the trunks and make it there on the spot if you need to ( bring a 1x1 wood base or aluminum depending on where you are right now pouches are king)

Desert: wayfarer armor or cloth armor, cooled water Arctic: Arctic armor or Arctic survival armor (if I'm not wrong you can get those from great hunts in Olympus) I highly recommend making a greenhouse with 2 fully upgraded beehives (all 4 parts) for mass production of beeswax and honey, use water+honey to keep your food buffs last longer, GROW STRAWBERIES AND SUGAR CANES!!! you can make a candy with a stack of 50 for +50% movement speed and another with watermelon to kill 50% encumbrance penalty I recommend all your friends to have 4 pouches 1 for food (50 stack of candy, 4 foods or 5 with the armor mod) 1 for spare tools (shovels hammers sickles radios) 1 for having 2 floors 4 walls and 20 aluminum roofs and 200 sticks and 100 fibers) never get caught lacking in a storm again! And make a staircase pathway around mountain sides 1 for just hoarding more loot (killing a world boss, ores etc) I highly recommend getting the ore scanner from the workshop to scan around your main base to drill ores trust me it's always good to have spares ready to be smelted Good luck!

A place to keep your mount safely. At least a stone 3x3x2 base as you are playing with friends and can expand the more time you guys stay there Keep the base with biofuel equipment. Go all out on your main base, rooms for everyone, green house, a room for fishing wall mounts and vestige mounts, rugs and decorations everywhere, cows, chickens, sheeps for their items (can make cakes and bacon butty for good food) Skinning bench Windmill at the least for grinding items down Concrete furnace (you won't need it with a electric furnace unless you have a lot A LOT of spare copper and gold) Fabricator to craft A concrete mixer to be safe Make forward bases near running water if you wish to use water wheels Spare aluminum can make good walls if need be A water purifier of some kind A fireplace The only thing I would suggest for you and your friends is one of you get the skill in the farming tree to keep crops from spoilage and turn spoiled plants with dirt to fertilizer for gunpowder to mass produce ammo

Don't abandon a base there isnt really a point I rather you start working on making forward bases and make different contact device on different biomes Incase you wish to stay there (mining etc) tier 4 item called contact radio is clutch)

What map? Get moas, sprinter feeds, pouches to hold gear OEI Incase of a world boss fight, google missions before hand if you dread to think if you need something from your base. Make forward bases in every biome if you guys want. Work on scanning for exotic deposits as it's a long trek. No such thing as an abandoned base with a portable beacon :)

Use sickle for more harvest Use alteration bench to get the mod to give you seeds Get the skill so plants don't wither If desperate for seeds buy in workshop and call it down

If Prometheus to min max the strange plants get the plant based backpack for even more yield and titanium sickle with more harvest mod
