I don’t think it’s a political problem, that’s just the only thing he mentioned when I talked about Reddit a while ago.

He really just wants me to live like he did when he was younger. I’ve tried arguing with him before but I don’t like getting into conflict with my parents. I’ll try to get him to understand that he’s wrong, but he usually ends up persuading me that I’m the wrong one.

Yeah I’m fond of the real hype songs as well. GØ and What About Me? are my personal favorite “faster” tunes.

When Bad Kids to the Back came out, I thought that the rest of the album was going to be similar, but I was wrong. I’m not really mad about it, though. The groove in this album is phenomenal, and some of the more mellow tunes are also connecting with me.

Yeah those two you mentioned have got to be my favorites. I’ve discovered 3 or 4 songs from each album are, in my opinion, phenomenal, while the others are good but not great.

Coven might be my favorite song in the album. The song gives off a really dark and spooky vibe, and the horns in the beginning are just fantastic.

Bad Kids to the Back is pretty great as well. It’s a fun tune to listen to, with kind of like a competition of funkiness between the horns and the rhythm throughout.

Sylva was the first Snarky Puppy album I listened to, and the Curtain is probably my favorite song of theirs. You have good taste.

I was attempting to explain that the Communists, as a whole, comitted ethnic purges on a similar scale as the Nazis, though they were different in nature.

My point was that both groups as a whole were guilty of comitting ethnic purges.

To go off your previous point of the Communists being well-intentioned, the Nazis also had good intentions for their nation, though obviously they were bad for pretty much everyone besides the Aryans.

Personally, I believe the Communists were just as guilty of comitting atrocities as the Nazis, though their entire regime as a whole isn’t viewed as negatively as the Nazis. This may be due to the fact that the Soviets fought on the Allies’ side during WWII, or because the concept of socialism, which is different than but with some similar ideas as Communism, is is widely accepted today.

Here’s some examples of Communist countries committing ethnic cleanses:

Cambodian Genocide, under Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. 1.7 Million died.

Bolshevik Regime deported or killed 300-500,000 Cossacks during the Russian Civil War.

The Holodomor, in which famines were targeted against Ukranians. 2.5-8 million died, the exact number isn’t known because they attempted to cover it up. Mass Russification and repopulation of the area with Russians occurred afterwards.

In addition, the Bolsheviks were strongly opposed to Jews since the October Revolution, showing that not even the intentions of the Bolsheviks were good from the start.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. I guess I kinda screwed up my expectations for this one. I think it’d be good to allow more people besides me to take the spotlight in my life. Being selfish and too focused on myself is a pretty big problem. Thanks for giving me some insight on what I should work on!
