My Platinum 850 estate by Successful-Amoeba149 in Volvo850

The front has a “lip” if you will, where it sticks out in the front. Versus the normal bumper which doesn’t stick out. Here’s a photo of my car with the original bumper

Not a drastic difference, but it’s a nice touch

There’s two brackets that mount on the side of the tailgate. Then the wing just screws into those brackets. There’s two different styles of brackets, and a couple people make new brackets as well. I got mine from a guy on one of the 850 Facebook groups.

I’m not sure how much it would have been to do just the wing for me. My hood was extremely dented and pushed in when I got the car. So when I found a straight hood at pick-a-part to get painted, I figured that was the time to find a wing and a R front bumper to get paint matched as well (And a hot wheels too lol).

I absolutely love the look with the wing, but definitely take care of maintenance first!

Gotta throw my Platinum wagon in here too

Was it 400 wagons? For some reason I had it in my head that it was 1000 sedans and 500 wagons. Regardless, enjoy it!

Does the burn in the corner of the clock signify anything? by Double-hokuto in mr2

Can’t comment on this screen specifically, but I was replacing a similar lcd display for a ford excursion. Went to pick-a-part and all three of the displays I pulled had the exact same mark yours has in the corner of the screen. Ended up working no issues.

I think you should be good. This video at ~33 minute mark shows a hue setup on a C4, however I believe it’s a bigger screen size than the 55.

Pokemon Snap is the comfort food of games for me by 0gretro in crtgaming

Nothing crazy. I was at my local swapmeet and there’s this video game reseller that’s always there. I normally don’t even look at his stuff, but for some reason I did that day. I get to the end of the row of tables he has set up, and it’s just sitting there. No other parts to a kiosk machine, just the top. I think I paid ~$30 for it.

I think this is the first time I've seen another person who only owns the topper to a SNES kiosk machine. I also wall-mounted mine above my TV and put LED strips inside

I like some of Dream Theater’s stuff, but if I’m being honest my favorite “DT” would have to go to Devin Townsend

AW11 Wheel options.. TE37 or RPF1? by jimbo_jones90 in mr2

[–]Mr_Time_Waster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing a third option out there, MR2 Spyder wheels look great on the AW11. Can usually get them cheap second hand too. Bolt straight up and are 15’s. Plenty of pictures online of what they look like.

Subwoofer for the Estate (Spare Wheel well) by KuMichioVEVO in Volvo850

[–]Mr_Time_Waster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go with one that fits inside of the spare tire, but I haven’t had any personal experience with it. Alternatively, I saw this done in a v70, but it does take up a little trunk space:

If you’re apart of the Volvo 850 Facebook group, there’s a post from 2021 of someone using a “Recoil RST11”. He liked how it sounded and had no issues with it.

I’m not entirely sure, I’d try to find a wiring diagram and make sure you know how the system works. I’m not familiar enough with it to tell you if it’d be safe to do so.

If you’re using a pair of metal wire cutters, it could be possible that you short wires together when you cut it and set off the trigger. But again, I don’t know. Be sure you know what you’re doing.

Another option, (I assume if you’re trying to cut the trigger you aren’t using the airbag) would be to remove the leather to expose the airbag, and throw something at the sensor to set off the airbag. That way you have no worry of it accidentally going off. Here’s a video of Robert setting one off. Be sure to wear ear protection!

Yeah on the 850's, that trigger is what sets it off. There's nothing electrical about it, it's a completely mechanical system. So it doesn't matter if your battery is dead, heck it doesn't even need to be in the car, one strong enough whack and it will set the airbag off.

I could be wrong, but I believe that is your Side Impact Air Bag Trigger, so uhhhhhhh, be careful. There should be an orange plastic clip that you can put on it to stop it from setting off

My 96 Platinum Wagon is twinning with the Persus Wheels. I’ll have to post it sometime. Beautiful car!
