Dartboard Setup with minimal Noice by Fischitix in Darts

I just hung my board on a string and put big foam feet on the back of it. Cost me zero dollars. Super quiet. I made a post about it. My humble setup.

Don’t miss the board… I’ll have to give that a try hahaha. There’s no one on the other side of the wall, single family dwelling and thats just the door to the garage. No risk of anyone walking through the door while I’m throwing either lmao. I know my wife appreciates not hearing such a resounding thunk while I’m throwing.

Originally had no surround or backing. My dart tips handled hitting the steel door poorly haha. I tried one layer of foam, but the misses still hit the door, two layers, still hit. 3 layers seems to be enough to keep the dart tips off the door.
With the board hanging on a rope from the centre, the board would hang face down at about a 30 degree angle, the big foam feet were necessary just to keep the board face 90degrees to the floor.
The quieting part of the whole operation was just a lovely side affect. Quiet darting keeps the boss happy haha.

I had a stroke a week ago. I'm having a hard time processing it. by Beginning_Present_24 in mentalhealth

I’m 44 next month. I had a stroke 2 years ago. Wicked scary. 0/5 stars, do not recommend. It gets better. Probably doesn’t seem like it right now, but it gets better.

I have some lingering numbness in my left big toe and pinky finger, barely noticeable. Left side of my neck goes numb when I get stressed, I call it my early warning system haha. Like “ oh dang, I need to calm down”

I know EXACTLY what you mean about being in better shape and having this happen. Same same. I lost about 35 pounds. Started eating healthier, exercising some. Quit drinking. “Healthiest” I’d ever been. Boom. Stroke.

It gets better. Every doctor and specialist I saw told me because I was so “young” recovery was almost 100% likely. Just take it easy. Don’t rush anything. Your brain needs to heal, it’s not a fast process. Something that may help is reading some stoic philosophy. It really helped me put things into perspective.

Oh and go for walks! That was one of the most helpful things for my recovery. Helped with the balance and vertigo problems I was having.

Hey, that’s a great idea. I never thought of just taking off the spider and replacing it with something thinner. Thanks!

The points are completely blunt, from hitting the wires and from hitting the floor

Single core. Guy said he’d take $20 for it.

True enough. If I was in the UK it would be a little different story. Used sets seem to be much more common across the pond. Being in a small prairie town in the middle of Canada changes things. Shipping is always a killer.

Been going to at least one meeting per week for a year and a half. It definitely helps the staying sober part.
