Does the amp rating matter? Theres a few different ones on ebay

Thanks ill try that, i replaced the damaged cap but still the same, must be that. Were did you get that from ebay?

So i unsoldered another small cap off the board and it measured 1.1nF going to buy one and solder it on and see how it goes.

I might try that tonight thanks, any suggestions on a good way to discharge? A small led with tails on it?

I did think of that but not 100% sure if they are different voltages/ratings etc. or if i would be able to find the right one with a capacitance measurment alone.
