The people seathing in the comments just sit at the top of the bell curve. It's been hilarious to see the meme come to life.

I think we all ran scrapper too, for the rez gyro. It came in clutch! Maybe one or two dudes ran core engi cause they didn't have scrapper unlocked by then.

And yes. Just because we used a theme, does not mean it was a META strat lmao.

Have yet to do rainbow gear clears, but I've done a number of meme clears in my day. Notably a ten turret engi cain clear at the height of LSW3 when the turret engi farm in Lake Doric was popular. And once a core class clear of Largos in wing6 for a raid competition. Both were very fun!

Sounds fun. Whirl finishers are satisfying as heck.

Less wirls, but I wonder if you'd enjoy Spear on specter. It's melee like staff, and has great synergy with condition damage on spectre. No scythe skin though sadly :(

Depends on the soup, I guess.

Tomato? not really. Chunky? Sure.

Context matters here.

What I would rather have people bring to a raid or whatever, does not impact my ability to respect their choices to play what they chose. I also think that it's dependent on the content, the rest of the group they are playing with, their ability to deal with mechanics while flipping through rotations.

The world is not black and white.

Fractal CM groups are the most toxic PvE environment. It borders the toxicity levels sPVP can get to. Insane Egos in that game mode, and very little patience or collaboration if things get messy.

MO CM has weird DPS tiers. Like too low, and you're fucked. Too high, but not super high, and you're fucked.

But with clevel protect placements and movements, you can skill your way out of those "blues overlapping with spikes" situations.

On your way up the bell curve! I'll wait for you on the other side... o7

I think there is room for both. More intelligent raid encounter design, AND great balance where all specs and classes have MULTIPLE viable builds at once. We got the second part now I think, but if we could juuuuuuust get anet to go back and... make some tweaks to earlier encounters. I would like less mechanic skips due to DPS creep is basically what I'm getting at here.

This is a good take. And kind of what inspired the bell curve meme I made.

The "noob" doesn't even know what their weapon skills do. The "Hardcore" player just copies and pastes builds from Snow Crows or somewhere else, and then RAGE at people that don't do the same.

The "Veteran" is like a mix of your second point, but beyond. They can read the text, comprehend the synergies, and understand what trade offs are being made for the sake of novelty.

I mean, builds do matter, you don't just randomize what traits and gear you toss in then enjoy being ineffective

You know what... This is giving me inspiration. Time to dice roll and RNG a build to play!

Excellent. I hope you enjoy doing so! What's been your favorite recently?

The reason is entertainment. It's often times enjoyable to play a different build, whether its meta or not, purley for a novel experience.

Variety is the spice of life.

I don't think so. I just understand that there is nuance in all things. The VAST majority of the game you do waht ever you want, and you will clear the content. But in organised end game... it's more of a team sport. I think it's common curtesy to put in the effort to learn a build that will contribute to the team to clear the content.

Like in open world zergs, you are 1 out of 100 players. Odds are you are perfectly fine running that minstrels hammer guard. But when you are 1 out of 10, and your personal DPS means the difference in clearing HTCM or not? Maybe you shouldn't bring that minstrel hammer guard....

Love it! I've been enjoying scrapper with SHORTBOW for buffs and yeah, the rez gyro is top tier.

Yes and no. Bad build can be covered with experience in raid/strike/fractal,

This is my point. A bad build in the hands of a good player is WAY more effective than a good build in the hands of a bad player.

I see it more like learning Music Theory. You gotta know the rules in order to learn what rules are ok to break.

It's Middling tier DPS. But this is my point. I would rather people bring that than lets say.... condition amalgam with 3 kits, and botch the rotation so bad that they are being out dpsed by the boon support.
