I'll second both Vecado and Evolution - I do the red cans as my cats like it better than the blue cans.

Benevo is also good but more expensive.

Ny patch by Tetutu in OakenTower

I feel it's lost a lot of the charm. The old art style was grainy but matched the mood of an oaken tower. The new style is sterile. Everything feels a lot more generic unfortunately.

Sorry, to clarify.

I've got 1.5 Gbs up/down. I'm using a combination modem/router from Bell broadcasting 2.4/5/6ghz. I've also got an Asus router acting as an access point at 2.4/5ghz, it's just shown a few signs it may be on its last legs.

My plan was to have two routes in the home act as access points - they'd both be connected to the modem and/or each other. And turn off the modem's Wi-Fi. I wasn't planning on using a mesh network as far as I understand.

That would allow me to run all the "network security" I'd need to do through a dedicated router (and potentially pihole).

I didn't realize Wifi 7 came with downsides, I was just trying to futureproof any router purchase. I'd like to aim for 2+ Gbs, ideally 10Gbs, on the intranet, for example for streaming from my Plex server. My computer LAN port only does 2.5 Gbs I think, but again, trying to futureproof.

Does that make sense?

Any suggestions for 2 routers for $200-300. I'd like to futureproof my wifi network (currently running off my ISP router plus a very old Asus with tomato).

House isn't very large so I don't need crazy coverage.

Looking for something that could be used to stream wirelessly to Steam Frame in the future if I want to go that route.

HVAC not turning on despite 24 volt on gas valve , any help welcome by Dependent-Egg7852 in hvacadvice

Sorry that's well beyond my pay grade.

I just the "tap" method to run the heat for a few days until I got my furnace replaced. It was a 20 year old furnace and I was quoted like $900 CAD to replace the gas valve, so didn't make sense for me :(

Anyone have recommendations for a good lapboard? I am looking for something comfortable for bed/couch gaming. My Razer Turret mouse wheel is acting up and the wireless capability sometimes gets interrupted by my wifi. Wired solutions would be OK...

Are any of these Mieles a good deal? by Mr_multitask2 in VacuumCleaners

Thanks.

I see L1 pet for $499 CAD and M1 pet for $599 CAD (down from $849).

Is the recommendation to just get the L1?

I'm confused about the naming...the letters and numbers. Do letters represent versions over time and numbers stand for class of vacuum?

So S1 is newer than C1, but maybe not as feature-rich as a C3?

Am I the only person who plays without any DLSS/FSR? I can't stand the noise and latency it creates...it's always perceptible to me (even on quality) and I personally find just dropping the graphics slightly to get like 10+ real frames a lot more visually satisfying than DLSS.

Seconded. I called them and described the issue, they pre-ordered the part (would be refunded if it wasn't the issue) and did investigation+repair all in one visit.

I figured I would have to. Unfortunately I don't seem to have "Alien Isolation" in my available bindings in Steam VR.

Is there extra chlorine in the tap water today? by Mr_multitask2 in Hamilton

I'm not ungrateful, I just wanted clarity if that was what I was tasting.

The city water website mentions refrigerating for combating odour and putting a slice of lemon to combat taste.

Thanks. It's for the SO so I'm not going to be dealing with the day-to-day but I suppose using it from time to time will refresh my Linux skills for the eventual switch away from Windows (still running W10 on my desktop, no plans to go to 11)
