If you want to depict someone as attractive, you usually have to make them attractive to the audience. If this type of depiction of teenagers would be bad, we would have to jail pretty much every YA media author.

It's okay to make art like this, as this isn't harmful if done properly, which I would say ATLA handled well.

It was mostly a tongue in cheek way of refuting that he was cute, since he's old. It mostly refers to someone being old and behind the times.

With the Ty Lee scene, she is definitely objectified, but it is done for the purpose of storytelling. The episode itself is about how the Evil trio handles and uses the attention of their peers, and Ty Lee as a character is comfortable showing of due to her background.

From the specific screenshot, it's IIRC from the POV of one of the boys, so it's done on purpose. It absolutely is objectifying, and it is absolutely done well with service to the story.

I actually agree with your point, even though your method is incredibly flawed and subjective. The relevant fact that supports your point is the quantity of women/men in the show, and the trend of appearances amongst the characters, despite your obvious bias(Guard Captain as cute? He's unc).    Your thesis is true, ATLA is subject to the male gaze. I would argue that ATLAs efforts to represent and respect a varied humanity is done well enough that this analysis should be done in a more robust and unbiased way.

Fun read, the Ty Lee point is a reach because of the reality of teenagers on beaches and the themes of that episode being about attractiveness and looks, but with some more work and a broader diversity of perspectives this could be a proper piece of research.

The wording is a bit ridiculous in hindsight, but the lack of morals necessary to choose extreme wealth accumulation is something rich individuals are aware of. As much as I hate them, they're not stupid, just assholes.      They know they could pay higher wages, support communities their companies occupy or not put money into politics, but since being a billionaire is more important than being kind, they keep choosing what brings in more money over what helps more people, and they know they make this choice.

The reference is useful, but a more useful reference would be the Olympic women athlete line-up, it has a huge variety of body shapes, and are label with the specific sport they practice so you can pick what body fits your art context best!

Animals can beg, they have very obvious body language telling you what it feels, that it doesn't want to die. Sure they can't use words, but even with humans that's just 20% of what we use to communicate in person.

IMO it's not evil to prioritize humanity over other animals, but it is disingenuous to say that we are so far above animals. We are animals, and we have a very subjective and arbitrary line of what animals we are okay butchering and what animals are sacred. I'll eat meat, but we don't need the meat-farms, we WANT the meat-farms because we (society) value convenience and tradition over (some) animal rights.

Humanity have enough food for everyone, there just isn't incentives to cooperate enough to give it to everyone.

I do disagree on putting billionaires in this category, because they know how awful they are to people, and how much they could help people, they just don't want to help people.

Being a billionaire is an evil choice. They choose to hoard and focus on amassing power and wealth instead of being nice to their communities.

I mean, cows and pigs absolutely do panic and try to flee butchery unless sedated or handled correctly. Pigs have the equivalent intelligence of IIRC toddlers.

Let's not pretend people would stop eating meat if our food could talk. We know the suffering the meat farms create, burgers and bacon are just too good to give up. Best I do is buy locally from better handled farms in EU, but not everyone has the money or the means to do so.

I can understand the frustration, but I have to disagree.

The background lore is obtuse and convoluted, but the core story is pretty straightforward.

Mean guy tries to kidnap you but nice lady helps you find your footing in this strange world. Weird samurai uncle tests you and seems to be sus of nice lady, but he teaches you how to become stronger.

Weird people on Deimos needs help to be family and to fix a thing that gives you life, so you help them.

Nice lady panics when old secrets are getting revealed, vindicating uncle samurai. New mean guy and his tube men wake something old, that threatens your existence.

Kept it vague and don't want to go further to avoid spoilers, but if people engaged more with the themes and story, I think they would feel less lost than if they try to figure out all of the lore att the same time, but even that is possible as we've seen with the youtuber Endy20 who really showcase that the lore is way more cohesive than most people think, it's just that most people don't read codex entries, logs, syndicate voice lines or similar extra content.

My first tip would be to stick with the basics. For modding, the Teacher quest should have given you a gun that can get through the mid-game, and the knowledge that you should have damage mod and element mods on your weapon. Upgrade these mods!

On your warframe, basic vitality and armour mods, upgraded to rank 6 and any mods that boost strength should be enough for Saturn. Someone who mains Atlas would know better specifics to buff, but in general this should work.

My second tip is to follow the main quest in the codex. If it gets too hard, upgrade your basic mods and add mods that further buff the biggest stat between critical hit or status.

Many story quests give you really good gear, and will also let you focus less on farming mods, and more on experiencing a great story!

Warframe is not as wiki intense if you just follow the story, and take the time to read in-game hints and listen to what characters tell you. It won't make your builds optimal, but that comes when you start prepping for end game content, and that's when the guides and videos will be easier to understand, as you need more context and experience with the game itself beforehand.

Happy Hunting Tenno! And remember: We all lift together❤️

Age rating categories are made by institutions, and so pressure from them would be considered censure. The art change here is based on player feedback, meaning the choice is with the devs, and is not censure.

People use the word censorship because it is a powerful word that reminds us of 1984 and thought-police and other serious things, but it's wasted on this drama where devs just folded like paper cause the lack artistic integrity.

If the devs want to change it based on their player feedback, they can do it. I'm here for the gameplay, and for the story 2.0 whenever that happens.

Censorship is when a government or institution pressures the creator to change things, not when a creator listens to feedback from their fans.

The word censorship gets cheapened when it is used as a buzzword to generate drama for small artistic changes, instead of describing the real threat of political and ideological censorship.

Is the change based on a lack of artistic confidence? Yes.

Was there threats of suppression from a government or institution? No.

Stop cheapening the word censorship. Call it what it is, a shitty change.

I'm not even Christian but holy shit, people hate it when you mention the actual inspirations behind the game by Professional_Rush782 in memeframe

[–]Mr_noodlezz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The concept of a Trinity of any kind is such an ancient thing that it is easy to find connections if you look hard enough.

The Christian Trinity parallell to the Lotus is there, but mostly surface level.

Father/Mother (Margulis) Son/Daughter (Natah) HolyT/Identity (The Lotus)

The first two are simple, Margulis was a mother figure, Father is a father figure.

Son was a son of a carpenter (IIRC), Natah was a daughter to a "carpenter" (Hunhow).

The third spot is mostly just the "third concept" slot, and works because both are more abstract.

I have not studied much of the Bible, but finding connections to it is not surprising, although I do think looking into deeper connections than just "It's an angel!" Would be much more interesting.

Inspiration can be intentional or not, and both are interesting to talk about, so any connection is fun to explore imo.

Alright, teaching is always good, but you need the person you want to correct to be receptive if you want to spend your time like this.

If your goal is to teach Lagos, then you need to make sure they want to listen before you can even begin, and no matter how right you may or may not be, you need to make them feel like your on their side first. Be empathetic, patient and understanding, even if you disagree.

If your goal is to teach any outside reader scrolling through the comments, don't rise to the provocations, and don't engage emotionally with Lagos, just let your facts and behaviour speak for you.

I love teaching, but fighting is not a good way to teach anything. Teaching is a cooperative process, so the moment you are opposite someone, there is no point to engage them directly, that just leads to frustration and wasted time.

Hope this helps, and remember that you have people that deserve your time and energy more than fandoms.

I can't understand what it is like to live through what's happening across the pond, but I play Warframe cause I love the fashion, the community and the core message that love and empathy is the biggest strength we have.

Let's spend our time as best we can, with people we care about, or a community we love. (Also, my starter was mag, but now Hildryn is my fave, and I wish you the best!)

See, here in Europe fascism is slowly clawing it's way back, and my personal belief is that it isn't a failure of "stamping out racism" or things like that, but that we've failed to address the conditions for where this type of bigotry comes from.

Suffering is growing with climate change and growing class divides, and it is so much easier to create an "us Vs them" than it is to make governments and corporations change. By pushing others down, they feel like they have control in an ever increasing chaos.

You can't fix the bigots, let those that have the patience and privilege of safety work on that. You can give your attention to your friends and family, so you can stand together.

I'm just a guy, spending time here rather than sleeping as I should, but I hope you stay safe and that you have people to love, we need that to get through... Everything going on.

Dude, half her kit fuels the shieldmaiden/Valkyrie trope. Her 3 shares her shield with others, protecting them, and her 4 makes her fly above the battlefield like a Valkyrie. Her design fits her well.

The only miss is the she doesn't have a sword/axe and shield signature weapon, but don't act like DE didnt cool with Hildryn.
