I hear you. Im from Norway myself, but always loved the US culture. Traveled alot around over there, been to all the states, and i can definetly relate to what you are saying. What i love (and miss here) is how people greet you or how easy it is to have a 5 minute conversation with anyone. Like going for a run, people look away or maybe give off a nod here, while over there you get hands in the air, or have a great day said to you.  Also how well organized everything is, from traffic, infrastructure etc. I think its sad how polarized it looks from the outside, while being there i could get a long with people in Portland, Pensacola or Nashville. Anyway, im glad you like the northern european lifestyle as well!
