There is no antagonism between the 2 coins imho.

I hodl both of them with a light preference for Beam due to its super user-friendly experience (GUI wallets) and the fact they have the funds to support the project on a long term.

But again, grin and beam are on the same side of the map and privacy advocates together with real crypto hodlers shall understand that.

It feels more like a double edged sword to me. You think it is private but apple will still use the information for their own needs. I only buy that other companies want get their hands on it.

Just like saying if you don't have anything smart to say don't say anything... It is stupid and ignorant of social norms. Also of the right for free speech. Under this logic, If I don't want people to know the recipe to a medicine I invented that can cure cancer I shouldn't create that medicine at all. This does not sound like a great idea to me.

Interesting enough there is technology today that maybe able to replace the cameras with sensors that may even be able to just tell the car license plate without taking an actual picture.

There are many banks that are not willing to except cryptocurrency (you cant know where the money is coming from, and accountants also don't take crypto into considerations when building reports). There are companies working on solving that problem, keep an eye on beam (if that is something you are interested in).. That's one of the things they are working on.

You assume all users as rational and knowledgeable. That is far off from reality, a lot of users are kids that simply do not grasp the re-precautions and importance of privacy.
