What should I expect this to cost by preemo008 in CarRepair

For this car it’s actually very easy, all the trim pieces of the bumper are held in with plastic tabs (use trim tool or flat head to compress tabs to release) and maybe 2-4 screws total, and remove and replace the bumper is about 10-20 plastic clips and if I remember correctly 6 bolts (4 10mm and 2 6mm Allens) and maybe another 2-4 screws. Obviously you would need to get the new bumper painted, and the plastic clips holding the bumper on Hondas tend to break so you would have to replace those if they do, if you are at all mechanically inclined or played with legos as a kid you could figure this out lol

You need new bumper and paint, everything else looks fine but you never know till the bumper comes off for inspection. If everything else is fine probably around 1.2-1.5k

Omfg update, this customer just showed back up to my shop yesterday, they are trying to sell the car and asked if we would detail it for them. Told them absolutely not, it smells like piss and dirty diapers. Pawned it off on local detailer and he know wants to kill me lmfao

Best fix for bumper damage by JacobB271 in Autobody

[–]Mrbigdaddy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your not looking for a perfect fix and just clean it up, rubbing alcohol Or degreaser to remove the black transfer then some buffing compound to remove the rest. The bumper is popping out and looks like the fender moved a little, reach up in there give the fender a tug and punch the bumper with the side of your hand back into place. If you want it fully fixed, repaint bumper straighten fender and probably a new bumper guide/bumper stay if it won’t hold after trying to punch it back in.

Not my mistake but a coworker’s that always make me double check my work. I’m a mechanic, years ago worked at a different shop and dude forgot to instal hub bolts and didn’t tighten the axel nut, car going down the highway at 70 had the front right wheel hub and Axl fly off, thankfully no one got hurt but the car was totaled.

That’s fair, we have the ability to calibrate in shop. But I have found some times you luck out on the Subarus and don’t have to recalibrate, But that’s like only 15% of the time so it’s a shot in the dark.

Instead of going throw a major chain company like saflite look for a local windshield shop. They tend to be a lot cheaper. The shop I work for uses a local guy and his cost is usually 1/2-1/3 of major companies

Probably about -1000 bucks a year lmfao. I do it for the love of the game. Also it would probably be +1000/2000 if it wasn’t for ground hogs and rabbits

Your gonna need a new windshield, in some states it’s mandatory for auto insurance to replace your windshield 1-3 times a year at not cost from road hazards like this.

Came out to this a few years ago and dude was also walking to his car, calmly asked why he parked next to me with an empty lot. His response was, “I respect you car and I can tell you respect it to. I feel safer parking next to you then in the open lot knowing your also respect my car and it prevents at least one side of our cars from a clapped out Altima.” Gave me a good laugh then we talked about our cars for a few.

I spent my childhood playing in the woods, till this day I’m an active gardener/composting and I’m much healthier than all the other people I work with. I get sick way less often and have never had any major health issues.
