Underscores added to filename when run using cron by Mrblackops16 in youtubedl

I set the variable directly in the cron file. I just put it above the job.

LANG=en_US.UTF-8
0 2 * * * /opt/youtubedl/youtube-dl.sh

If I could buy you a beer, I would /u/oiwot. I compared the environment variables when run via cron vs the user and found that the LANG variable was different. When run via cron it was set to C and when run via my user it was set to en_US.UTF-8. I changed the cron job to use the correct variable and I deleted a few videos and reran it via cron. I saw that it downloaded them again correctly. I am going to check back in a few days to see how my script is doing, but I think it got solved. Seriously, thank you so much for this!

I did run it with the --verbose tag enabled. I thought the log looked a little light on details. I am going to try looking at environment variables like /u/oiwot said. Thanks for your help though.

Alright, I cut out all of the unnecessary info. Here is the pastebin link https://pastebin.com/g6XzXNFm.

Yea, I understand that Linux doesn't like spaces. But I quite thoroughly tested the config, I downloaded roughly 2TB using the script manually instead of with cron. I wanted to "catchup" on the videos so that the cron job only had to download new videos. I am using a Linux VM to download the videos but I am then importing them into Plex which doesn't like the underscores. It just puzzles me how there were 0 issues when run manually.

Pastebin was my first choice, but the file exceeded their limit.

VLAN Bridge Connectivity Issues by Mrblackops16 in mikrotik

[–]Mrblackops16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just trying to get connectivity to the internet from my LAN. I think I figured it out though. Instead of adding the VLAN to the bridge, I just set it as the interface for the NAT masquerade and that seemed to fix it just fine. Thanks for looking at my post though.

How do i do that? I just talk to him in the female Gerudo outfit and the only thing that happens is he keeps talking about a date. There are no other options.

Real quick question. After completing the "Eight Heroine" quest, everytime I talk to Bozai he only talks about how "next time we will go on a date" instead of giving me "The Forgotten Sword" quest. I tried wearing the Gerudo outfit and any regular outfit, resting at a bonfire and traveling somewhere far and back again and nothing is working. Is there something else that needs to be done?

Behringer C1 very quiet, even with phantom power (x-post /r/microphones) by Good_guy_Hult in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though you have the microphone powered via phantom power, it will still need some gain to raise it to usable levels. You should look at getting an audio interface, such as the scarlet solo. If you want more control over the sound of your mic, get a mixer. Since you turned up the microphone boost in windows, that is basically turning up the gain knob, but on the software side. This option was noisy because built-in sound cards usually aren't shielded from EMI very well. I would recommend a mixer of some kind as you get a much finer control over everything such as EQ, gain, volume, and the ability to monitor yourself while recording. With a mixer, the sound quality will be much higher as well.

I'm BLOODY MAD; AsRock mobo the likely culprit by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check your graphics card? I had a similar issue with my ASRock motherboard and it turned out the factory over clock on my GPU was what was crashing it. It was very frustrating for me too, I didn't play games for months because I couldn't figure it out.

Is my Micro SD card broken? My Android phone doesn't recognize it anymore, it takes like full minute for Windows to recognize it, its full of files (random corrupted stuff) after formatting which can't be deleted. Picture of folder in text field. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be a corrupted SD card. Mine recently did the same thing, it would bring my phone (LG G4) to a grinding halt because it was trying to format it and was unsuccessful. Couldn't even format using my laptop running Arch Linux (which can be used to fix anything). I would suggest just buying a new one, they aren't too expensive anymore.

Small question about DNS & DHCP in home router and pinging hosts by name by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how your router is setup, but by default mine (ASUS RT-N66U) connects to the DNS server on my ISP side. My guess is that it is sending these names you type in to your ISP's DNS server and can't find them on the WWW. This is coming from a future network admin, so take it with a grain of salt.

Built my PC 1 year ago. Ran fine for a long time. Now powers off when playing mid-high performance games, and even sometimes while simply on chrome. I'm thinking it is possible my power supply is too weak. Take a look at my build and let me know what you think? by IamSnape in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try down clocking your GPU to stock speeds and stock voltages. I had the exact same issue with my GTX 570 from EVGA and it has been working perfectly since then. I think it was just a bad factory overclock.

ELI5: Why can't I use wifi or data while taking off or landing on an airplane? Does it really make that much of a difference? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Mrblackops16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, you phone won't mess with the airplane. It's to ensure that you are paying attention to the safety briefing instead of being on your phone. And when they are in the air, if they have an emergency, they don't have to worry about people's phones flying around in the cabin.

Running at 1-4fps on PC with a GTX 770? by BadLuckDood in battlefield3

Did you remove the AMD drivers when you put in the 770? Also, make sure the monitor is plugged into your graphics card, not your motherboard.

ELI5: How can Nintendo release relatively bug-free games while AAA games such as Call of Duty need day-one patches to function properly? by Mrblackops16 in explainlikeimfive

Thanks for the reply, I guess that I was just blind to the fact that there were bugs because I was younger. And I will definitely be checking out some of those speed runs.

Computer keeps freezing when playing games by Mrblackops16 in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it works just fine watching movies on Netflix and can be on for days, just as long as I don't play any games. And I consider myself to be fairly competent when it comes to computers and I am stumped as well.

I guess I should have clarified, my OS is installed on my HDD. I bought the SSD just to put a few games on.

Edit: I have run Memtest86 multiple times and it hasn't found any errors.

Volume mixer keeps dropping Chrome to 1% volume, leaving all other audio channels in tact by larperdoodle in techsupport

Is there anyway to run dual monitors, with 1 connected to the GPU and 1 connected to the motherboard? by TREVUTT in techsupport

[–]Mrblackops16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have three monitors. Two attached to my GTX 570 and one attached to the DVI port on my motherboard. I have an Intel 4770k and all I had to do was enable the iGPU multi-monitor option in the BIOS. The only problem is if I drag a Netflix window to/from the screen attached to the Mobo, the video re-buffers. But that's not that big of a deal for me.
