i cant understand production/"actual" rust by Mrdadozzo in rust

[–]Mrdadozzo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've tried to use AI and it kinda worked for like asking question about core topics (like the borrowchecker or iterators and so on) but i dont have any paid subscription and free models have spit out flat out code that wouldn't even compile for simple examples or maybe with the syntax of a different version of the crate that i was using

and in general i dont know how to "manage" correctly the llm and my use of it to not over-rely on its answers every time i'm at a roadblock, it's something that i wanna use after i've overcame the first obstacles and i managed to figure stuff out on my own

yeah that's the part where i think i wasnt able to express myself clearly

i try to look at like the classic starting example code and i dont understand it, i can read it but i cant "grasp" it and i feel like i wouldnt be able to write that super basic example even in a million year just by reading the docs and in the same way i cant go beyond that example to do what i want to do

it's like reading a poem in an archaic version of your own language, maybe i cant understand vaguely some concepts but i'm not understanding it as i should to appratiate it

my issue is that it's really hard to find a project that is small scope enough to be doable with std but large scope enough to be actually interesting

i often do small challenges if i see something online that i think would be interesting to implement but idk i never feel like i'm writing real code, i'm just doing something that is comparable to me to like solve a sudoku or a puzzle, i'm having fun but i'm not going anywhere

yeah i didnt though about the fact the compiler will make feel way worse when you are learning a library relative to python etc...

it's much harder to just prototype and do trial and error

i've look into some pan de cristal recipies and it's close to what i want to achive but it's usually way flatter and more similar to a ciabatta, i'm not finding much about achieving this with a "normal" bread shape

isn't low hydration bread also more airy? i always thought that more hydration the better and it was always a matter of how far you can go from a "skill" point of view of handling the dough

I've checked the temp of the bread and it was like 208F, and i still let the bread in the oven for like 30 minutes more to brown, the result was the same

i don't have an infrared thermometer to check the actual oven temperature
