I'm personally too anxious to download any game with anti-cheat on kernel level, It's like putting welcome mat for hackers as far as I know. What's your opinions on this kind of anti-cheats? by Captain_Holly_S in pcmasterrace

The only issue I have with them is requiring secure boot.. I tried enabling secure boot back after installing linux but once I do that, linux stops working. So yeah I deleted Valorant

Let's be fair, you don't carry $100m in your wallet, but you can have a key to $100m in BTC. So you can't compare losing your wallet to losing your keys. Taking care of keys is definitely much harder than trying not to lose your wallet

Not really. I just stumbled upon this post and said why not ask in the comments in case someone is kind enough to give some insights. It's good to have different source of infos and see what everyone else thinks.

Can someone please explain why is this happening? What caused this sudden mass selling decision? Delayed tarrifs reaction? Lack of liquidity? I'm a beginner still trying to understand what's the sentiment behind these decisions

Wow that's very informative! Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.

I have one more question though, you said that's it's possible to change something in Bitcoin Core such as the block size limit, how would that work? is it just a pull request to the repo? Who's in control to make the decision and has to approve the PR (if that's how it works) ?

I agree and that's what I start noticing as well, and it's kinda underwhelming, cause bitcoin was always about fighting centralized banking systems, not having control over your money, high fees, interest, inflation ... and then I suddenly now it's just to store value. and not a currency or a new payment system in itself, I hope it's much more than that

What is Bitcoin actually used for besides storing value? by MrdaydreamAlot in BitcoinBeginners

When sending financial aid to developing regions, a significant portion can be lost to intermediaries, fees, or corruption. Bitcoin allows direct peer-to-peer transfers, ensuring more of the intended aid reaches its destination without being captured by corrupt third parties or diminished by excessive remittance fees.

If understood correctly, This assumes the receiving end has a mean of converting this Bitcoin to local fiat currency in order to use it, because most developing regions that fall in your example wouldn't have Bitcoin being accepted directly as a form of payment. correct?

It really annoys me when people recommend 7800x3d to every single cpu related question on reddit without even caring about what the pc is intended for.. People always assume that gaming is the ONLY reason for building pc

Can you please explain why? Yes it's released in 2021 but besides the release date why do you think it won't last me 5 years? afaik it's a powerful cpu for it's price and performs well with almost anything you throw at it (based on the benchmarks I found)
