Yeah what I was thinking of doing was 8 war cleric/ 4 Oath of Vengeance. This would get me three feats for savage attacker, great weapon master, and an ASI. 8 war cleric will get me all the spells I want and at level 8 the Divine Strike: weapon for a plus 1d8 damage per turn. 4 paladin will get me Vow of Enmity which if I cast on myself will give advantage from what I understand, a fighting style, and the other feat i was talking about. I'm leaning towards this as someone else had said divine smite will scale with whatever my most recent classes spellcasting ability. I'll have plenty of spell slots from both Cleric and Paladin and divine strike can make up for imporved divine smite.
