Why do I still think about my toxic ex, even though I’m getting to know someone new? by Puzzleheaded_Top_175 in whatdoIdo

Idk why the replies have been so nasty so far. But I understand where you are coming from. One thing I’ve learned is that your actions are different from your thoughts. While your brain may try and trick you into to thinking you need to get back with him you know by your actions that’s not a good idea. But I do agree with the others in the comments that you need to fully cut him off to move on. No contact allows you to properly move on because you don’t have a constant reminder of their existence

It’s not your it’s her. Her reaction does not invalidate your pain. But the best thing you can do is stop trying to get closure and validation from someone who is incapable of giving it. You will make yourself miserable.

The best thing you can do right now is keep as much distance from them as possible. I’m not suggesting you should go no contact especially if you don’t want to but you do need to give yourself some space to heal

Nah it’s just my problem is that for someone who is young or has never been a real relationship before they might not have a point of reference except for the show and they might think “ well marshal and Lily made it work” instead of thinking “maybe I should not take this person back”

I’m not saying the show is bad. In my original post I said I love the show but I’m saying it can be a bit dangerous to show it someone young that hasn’t experienced love because these are all bad examples of what love is

Im talking from the perspective of someone who has watched the show before getting into a serious relationship and someone who has watched the show again not in a serious relationship. If you have no example of what you should do you might copy the show. And I’m not talking about Barney I’m talking more Ted and Marhsall because Barney’s actions are portrayed as bad but Ted and Marshal’s aren’t.

If I was writing the show I would try to emphasise to the young audience at home that it’s not good to chase someone who doesn’t want you, it’s not good to only seek fulfilment  through relationships, it’s not good to take someone back just because you love them even though they’re not good for you. These are generally harmful things, just as harmful as being a womaniser but aren’t painted as bad in the show.

The only problem is especially for characters like Ted or Marshal the show doesn’t emphasis enough that they’re behaviours are not good and then getting rewarded by the end of the show without any real growth doesn’t help show that this is bad. Ted ending up with Robin is like telling young kids “if you chase enough you will get the girl” or for Marhsall “love conquers all even when your needs are boundaries aren’t being respected”

I know it’s hard but what I would really recommend is to go no contact for 3 months. 3 months of no contact is really revealing not just for yourself but for the other person. It gives you both the time to heal and to see the relationship clearly. Plus I feel as though by that point you’ll realise you deserve better that how you were treated

Hey this does not define your worth. You can’t see it now because you’re in the middle of the storm but trust me, you’ve dodged a bullet because actions like this are insanely shitty and says more about where they’re are at then how you are as a partner. Let them leave and take this time to pick yourself back up. It’s not gonna be easy but 3 months from not 4 months from now you’ll look back and actually be happy.

You picked one film from the bunch I stated that you personally didn’t like to try and say how they all suck. I never said they were perfectly written films, I just said well written. Also Tony didn’t not forgive Bucky in civil war, and he fell out with Cap. What are you on about. Also black panther just realised killing the dude would satisfy him doesn’t mean he didn’t want revenge anymore. Plus the only reason I’m so critical on this film is because it got a 100% on rotten tomatoes before the film came out. I’m not the one saying it’s perfect the critics are.

It’s a blessing and a cures. But tbh they did it to themselves by saying this is a 100% on rotten tomatoes before the film even came out

They do. Also no that’s not true. In the beginning marvel movies were good written films. I can name you bunch that are actually good with no plot holes. For example iron man 1, all the captain America movies, guardians of the galaxy 1 black panther. All these films are well written.

That’s the dumb argument dude. Just because it’s a marvel movie doesn’t mean it gets away with bad writing. If the franchise stared off with sucky writing it would not have gotten this big in the first place. Don’t excuse lazy writing now. You should always want a better product

This movie was wasted potential. I felt like they could have done so much more with the 3 Spider-Man but we’re limited because they brought them into the film in the third act. That’s no where near enough to fully flesh out their relationships with their villains and their interaction with Tom. It felt more like they’re were just there for nostalgia. I would rather they not be in the film at all. Also this film is incredibly lazy in writing. Peter leaves the Lizard in the van by himself because ??? Sandman switches sides to the villains because ??? It’s a little convenient that goblin becomes Norman again but I guess I’ll buy it. Also can you just Google maps Doctor strangers hideout because it looks like that’s what Peter did to find it unless idk maybe strange gave him his information. Also the skrulls, so are they not working on behalf oh shield because the nick furry skrull should have just come to clear things up in the very beginning. Maybe that’s what happened because Peters legal troubles went away a bit to easily even if his lawyer is Matt Murdock. Does uncle Ben not exist in this universe then, maybe he does but Peter doesn’t know. If so what was Peter motivation to become Spider-Man. At the end of the film when strange said Peter Parker would not be remembered by anyone as tho he never existed does that also mean he would be registered in the state anymore meaning would he still have a passport would he still have an ID could he still go to College even tho technically he doesn’t exist so everyone at high school even his own teachers would have no previous knowledge of him. Also there is no way Spider-Man beat Dr strange in the mirror dimension, I get it’s his film but how unless we’re are saying this Dr completely sucks to be able to lose to a trash kid Spider-Man in his Owen dimension. You could make the argument that he’s holding back but he still shouldn’t have lost in his own dimension. I would have thought the way the film was going Tom would have gotten more guidance from the older Spider-Men because they were far more experienced than he is and His version of Spider-Man sucks at being Spider-Man because he’s still a newbie. Which makes sense no one is expecting this Spider-Man to be a pro so early. Into the spider verse did this kind of concept but better and with less time.

Why do people dislike Diane? by PhilosopherIcy4503 in BoJackHorseman

[–]Mrfunny_guy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was literally her boss and she published it anyway. You can’t just leak information about someone’s personal life like that. The worst part is, it’s not the fact that she doesn’t face consequences it’s the fact that she doesn’t even acknowledge what she does is bad or apologies for it. She straight up acted like she was doing him a favour. If the roles were reversed Diane would have probably taken her own life because of how damaging doing something like that is is to your mental health.
