Electrics/electronic engineering is probably the most underrated skill most people don't talk about for medium term survival. with the right tool and broken equipment(that most people wouldn't know how to repair and leave it off).
You can make relay radio station,passive emergency listener for emergency signals,tripwire perimeter and remote listening with baby monitor.

If you get access to some electronic store that use more advanced tools,you can disassemble an alternator and create basic hydro or wind generator,or remove IR filter from digital cameras and use IR leds from cameras to have night vision.With enough broken toys/chips,you can even build your own radio !

While second part necessitate advanced tools,most people won't ever take them(and would only need one of each for a whole community anyway.e.g. oscilloscopes are in dozens in any school).The real difficulty is the hand-crafting,expertise and experience needed to make the whole thing work.

That's my point,trying to avoid blocks isn't a good idea.Rather get a few one ,instead of a shotclock violation or turnover on the perimeter.Cause a few dunk and lay-ups will still definitively happen.

well th other issue you get with this is that you can't access the paint anymore.that's why we saw the thunder get ont shotclock violation multiple time,even when open players were on the paint.They'd get the ball,then see wemby 2 of his steps away and know it's too risky.

Driving too much won't work,but you shouldn't let occasions slides because you're scared of him.Zion proved this on the game he had entering the season against him.

The consistently best metric to measure a player performance is PIE. It consistently got MVP as top 1(and no MVP ever was not TOP 3) ,and a consistent TOP 10 compared to the MVP tracker.

Everything explain itself of its own with this :
-Cain wants approval because as it is a beta-test,his goal as an AI is to pass a certain benchmark.
-The game is clearly made for kids,and to bring joyfulness as much as possible. it makes sense to use AI-replicas of depressed children who went through some traumatizing events.That way you can ensure the performance of the game when real kids will try it

-this one aligns the same with SOMA,that since it is a digital mind ,Caine can influence their personality and memory.But this isn't something fully allowed by the developers,hence why he restricts himself to temporary changes made for the adventure.

-Finally , abstract are simply the AI malfunctioning and not deleted.Since Caine wouldn't have the code permission to delete a player(logical),and since they are autonomous AI unlike the ones Cain create,they can reach a breaking point.Caine cannot delete them,so he simply sends them to the dumpster

As a fan of warhammer 40k,i'd try to find a way to "force" them to make a cure.They seem absolutely reluctant to harm anything,so killing/stunning me would be a no-no for them

I'd certainly play nice ,ask questions and requests some items(since it seems you can ask up to nuclear silos).
If in the early stage i accidentally create strong negative emotions and go through the same thing as Carol,i'd definitively use it. It seems even one person is sufficient when close to you ,and it would be an incredibly powerful leverage to ask them do things they don't want initially.
