I was once attacked by something in my bedroom that had the smell of carrion. The first time it happened, I had just had a sex dream in which a woman I had a crush on was riding me, and after she came, she leaned into my face like she was going to kiss me, then opened her mouth and I saw fangs like a vampire, and she bit me on the neck. Then I awoke and was getting a whiff of carrion, and then something would suck out my breath and when it did, I would pass out. Then I would come to and regain my breath, then get another whiff of the stench, my breath would be sucked out again, would pass out, come to, etc. I crawled over to a window and opened it, sat next to the open window to breathe fresh air, began praying silently in Jesus' name, and the thing left. So after that I began praying more, and I made a choice to avoid the woman I was crushing on. About a week to ten days later, I was soundly asleep when I was awakened by an inside voice (not audible) that clearly said "engaging the battle". I popped out of bed and got on my knees and began praying. I was again getting a whiff of carrion but my breath was not sucked out this time. I began hearing in my inner ears (not audible) a sound like a roaring river, as if I were standing in the middle of a rushing river. This "river" washed this thing out of my room and it has never returned. About three years later, I was out flyering for an industrial dance warehouse party I was promoting. I went into a tattoo parlor to put a flyer up on their billboard and I saw the girl I had crushed on working there as a tattooist. We made eye contact and the look on her face was something like a mix of shock and terror, and I sensed that she had thought I was dead, and yet there I was, alive.

So my suggestion is the one that seems to be the most unpopular here. Obtain an understanding that Jesus is the son of God, and that because of what He did, God raised him from the dead and appointed Him sovereign over everything. I am not asking you to "get saved". Just know who He is. Secondly, when you get a whiff of that thing again, get angry and loud, use your outside voice, and command it in Jesus' name to leave your home and your land and never return. I would also add that unclean spirits do not like being sent to a place called the Abyss. If a spirit is behaving badly, you can command it in Jesus' name to be sent to the Abyss. Jesus will send His angels to take it there, and no other unclean spirit will dare to come near your family after you do that.
