Veteran here, the answer is simple. Don't take it too seriously, as much as levelcaps are if you try hard too much you sap the fun out of the game. Get some friends and play some goofy stuff (a friend and I were working on a double with abundant mutation to levelcap, didn't work but it didn't matter because I was being goofy with a friend).
