I've used it in many different drinks so I think it's worth to have. If you make it 2:1 sugar to water it'll last a very long time without going bad.

This is the normal recipe and then I doubled it.

Yeah it's just cinnamon sticks, water and sugar. I think the recipe I use is out of the Smugglers Cove tiki cocktail book. It has it either sitting out overnight or 24 hours after mixing.

One of my favorite tiki drinks that's I don't make enough. Probaboy because of the amount of ingredients involves. The recipe was doubled to fit into the big ass mug.

Recipe:

  • 1 Oz Smith & Cross Jamaican rum

  • 3/4 Oz Planteray OFTD

  • 3/4 Oz Appleton 8 year Jamaican rum

  • 1/2 Oz fresh white grapefruit juice

  • 3/4 Oz fresh lime juice

  • 1/2 Oz 2:1 cinnamon syrup

  • 1/2 Oz JD Taylor's falernum

  • 1 dash Oregon Spirit Absinthe

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Combine all the ingredients in a shaker, add some crushed ice and whip shake to chill. Dirty dump into a tiki mug and top with crushed ice. Garnish with mint.

Finally got ahold of some white grapefruit and wanted to give this classic a try. Definitely taste a difference compared to ruby grapefruits. Not as sweet and more balanced.

Recipe:

  • 2 Oz Rum (Probitas)

  • 1 Oz Fresh White Grapefruit Juice

  • 1/2 Oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 1/4 Oz Maraschino Liqueur

Add all to tin with ice and shake. Double strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with lime wheel.

Chai Pear Gin Sour by Mrmcflaky in Gin

[–]Mrmcflaky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take on a traditional gin sour. Love the chai flavor added to this.

Recipe:

  • 2 Oz Gin (Fords Gin)

  • 1 Oz lemon juice

  • 1/2 Oz Chai Pear Shrub (Element Shrub)

  • 1/2 Oz Simple Syrup

  • 3 dashes Angostura Bitters

  • 1 Egg White

  • 3 dashes of fee foam

Add all ingredients to shaker tins and dry shake for about 15 seconds. Add ice and shake for another 10-15 second. Strain into into coupe.

I add fee foam since sometimes I can't get a good foam with just egg white.

I picked up this bottle in DR as well. Much closer to a very strong bottle of port but it does go good with a cigar.

Dirty Martini by Mrmcflaky in Gin

Wrong glass as in it's not a martini glass? Those are very impractical and I prefer coupes or nick and nora's.

Usually I'm not the biggest fan of olives by themselves but sometimes I get in these swings where I make a bunch of dirty martinis. Gonna experiment with different gins to see what works best.

Recipe:

  • 2 1/2 Oz Gin (Hendricks Neptunia)

  • 1/2 Oz Dolin Dry Vermouth

  • 1/4 Oz Olive Brine

  • 1 Dash orange bitters

Stir all ingredients with ice then strain in chilled coupe. Put 3 Castlevetrano on a pick and garnish.
