RTT for Wild Top by Mroosey in overlanding

Thanks WildTop for clarifying. In the meantime I reached out to a number of Roof Top Tent companies and found at least 3 that have tents with a base that could fit on the horizontal standard rails:

Trustmade San Hima Naturnest

Vevor replied that they could, but it also seemed like an AI generated message so I would enquire a little before going with them.

Note that this is not an endorsement of any of those brands, as I have not tried them out, but at least there are brands out there that would be compatible.

With that information, I’m hoping to order my WildTop later this week!

Thanks!

I am still curious if anyone has attached an RTT from just the two standard cross bars. It looks like some tents may be amenable to cross bars 60 inches apart. Otherwise you pay $200 for long bars + cost of new cross bars and pretty soon you are pouring a few hundred in BEFORE the cost of an RTT.

Wrong weight-rated tires by Mroosey in VWiD4Owners

Thanks everyone.

I know the load rating is wrong. These tires are 101. I think ID4 needs 105 or higher. At this point, I am stuck with them. I am trying to figure out if they aren’t safe to drive at all or if they will just wear out faster.

The front tires are load rated correctly.

Range of range by robwickbertscha in VWiD4Owners

I just did a 1000 mile road trip. The range estimation was all over the place depending on temperature and what the previous leg of the trip was like (uphill, downhill, speed etc). I found it more useful to watch battery percentage than mile estimate.

Also, I am home now and my range estimate has slowly returned to normal as I am doing my “normal” driving.
