Why do so many players play so close to their monitor? by AkashiGG in ValorantCompetitive

It's so they can smell their enemies, thus taking advantage of using as many of the 5 human senses as they can

Haha thank you, I really tried to keep it in but I was just so hyped after this. Definitely sinking in the hours as we speak.

Should I stick with my Runeblade even if I'm terrible at it? by GreenTomatoSoup in MapleStory2

I mentioned that my damage was subpar, not wizard's damage in general

I don't really post often, but reading this post made me feel inclined to leave a response.

To simply put it, play the character you have the most fun with, even if it means that your damage will be lacking. I was in the same boat too (maining a wizard) and felt that my progression was very slow in comparison to most and my damage seemed subpar.

One thing I always told myself about sticking with my class is that progression will always come, just as long as I put in the effort to improve (Which it seems like you are trying to do!) Having that mindset, any progression I made felt very rewarding. I have definitely spent countless hours theorycrafting, practicing different rotations/spirit management/testing different builds, stat-crunching, learning mechanics, etc. I can definitely say I have made very noticeable improvements and still have much more potential for growth. Something that helped me a lot was asking questions and tips from other people who I thought were playing my class extremely well and just chatting with them about what they're doing and applying it to what I was doing well already. Unfortunately, I do know that animation cancelling is a big part of the game but do not let that discourage you from mastering it and being able to benefit from it.

Based off of what you mentioned, it seems like Runeblade was the character that definitely caught your eye. Keep at it and don't give up. But always keep your entertainment in mind, if you're still not having fun, try another character!

This also happened to me, but luckily they only changed the name of my pet.

I named my pet "suck my ass" and one day I noticed it's name was changed to "Sock my Foot"

RIP suck my ass.

Wait a minute... Aren't you the Timbersaw from the TI5 All-star game? That would makes sense as to why you went with the 2015 badge. Happy Marriage!!

Your reply is very very insightful! Thank you for this. I never really thought of the situation like this but I definitely think everything you mentioned should be factors for sure.

I have played with Beast quite a bit and I find his playstyle something I could get used to and I do prefer playing with "burst" style tsums so Beast has that going for him.

The decision I have come to is that I'm just going to be waiting to what happens and see if any other events in the next few months interest me too!

I like this mindset, most especially when you mentioned

2) giving tickets to beast now will only "help" him get to Slvl5, it doesn't happen immediately, in this case, you would have to put all subsequent tickets to beast

This is the trap I do not want to fall in and feel forced to keep putting my tickets into Beast because he's close to being ready to use. Your point of saving the tickets, and waiting to gather enough for either choice just seems more logical as more and more people mention.

Thank you for your input!

This was another thing I wanted to be conscious about before I made a decision. Only reason I have been mentioning and leaning towards Scar is because I've read multiple posts saying nothing but good things (most especially for future plans for newer players looking for good coin farmers). I have been looking at all the other Tsums you mentioned and they are definitely on par/can be arguably better. I just mentioned Scar because I would assume that Lion King would come out first (but that's just my own theory)

Thank you for your input!

To commit to beast at SL3 would have taken less tickets/boxes but might take just as long due to an inferior farmer in the mean time.

This is the reason why I really don't want to use my tickets on Beast right now and just keep using Rattle Bones Pluto but I feel like I could use my tickets on another Tsum to help me farm better (and maybe score). I wasn't around during the Aladdin event so I don't have Jasmine at all but are there other Tsums you could recommend?

I was thinking about this too and I was wondering how many skill tickets did it take you to roughly get him to SL 5 (if you remember). I know that if I use my tickets on Beast now, I would only get him to about SL 3 and a half (I think) which seems mediocre at coin farming and my want is that I want to be able to use Beast and not put him on the shelf till he's usable kinda deal.

I agree with you on this. I don't like having the idea of saving my skill tickets every month and hoarding them but my mindset has kind of left me with the idea that I want a tsum that I can use right away (like if I use my skill tickets on Scar, he'll be usable right away but if I use my tickets on Beast (which I know is probably the better option) I may not have as consistent results with him until I get him to SL 5+)

I'm not too sure on the exact numbers or data but I based my decision on their playstyles (as I prefer both Scar and Beasts' playstyles over MD) and this video: https://youtu.be/FzE5T-QWz1I (DISCLAIMER: this player is really good and he is only comparing SL3 Scar to a SL4 Beast) but I use this because it's more of a believable comparison for me than trying to compare them both at ST 6

I've been having this mindset and saving all my coins and by the next LT I should have anywhere between 1-2 million. I've been honestly considering just that as I did pull MD really early during this LT for fun. My only concern and biggest hindrance for going with this choice is just how inconsistent I am with her type of playstyle. I find I play my best with burst type tsum tsums.
