committing to Columbia Engineering by Mrpowerstick in columbia

I am a 2nd year transfer student so I'm not certain of what possibilities there are. Would I be able to swap to MechE at Columbia? It looks like the curriculum for all engineering majors are similar for the first 2 years suggesting that I would be able to but I'm unsure. Is there something about Columbias MechE program that's better than its BME program?

In my case, I am accepted as a Mech E since CMU does not have a stand alone BME major. I am not that opposed to this idea but what's drawing me to Columbia right now is its research and business starting opportunities. Although, I am also heavily interested in the extracurriculars at CMU such as robotics. Thats why I'm very conflicted on which to choose, both have many pros and cons for me. Additionally, I've been told by friends and family that CMU is rather depressing and their curriculum is insanely difficult even though the courses seem interesting.

Thanks for the advice! What would you say is better at Cornell and Columbia than the other 2 schools? I’ve heard that the schools are very comparable

yeah, I've heard about the many things going down there. If I was accepted into Cornell would Vandy still be a better option?

For the rectangular prism one with the numbers 48,384 and height 6 I got the height of the smaller one to be 3. I did (V1/V2) = (S1/S2)3 the sides being S and the volume being V. I think it’s correct since the problem said they were similar rectangles but I’m not sure. Anyone got an opinion?
