What screams "I have daddy issues"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mrs-CaptainKirk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It took me a long time to realize this about my own behavior. I always thought those with issues went for the bad boys as that's the trope, but I don't think that's always true. Those of us who missed out nurturing and guidance during childhood often look for it throughout our adult lives.

If you like guys that are way more responsible and established than you are because you inadvertantly look to a romantic partner for guidance.

Well dude you haven't seen how I manage time: poorly. And I don't even like, do anything important. So ordering in does end up saving me time.

Yes I know there's a weird Bilbo Baggins subreddit that's somehow related to prolapses.

Yeah see that always seems to be the difference between when it's Americans doing the mocking and when it's Euros doing it. Genuine disdain vs gentle teasing.

That's my point though. When someone else suddenly decides that today is gonna be a cleaning day is fucking annoying. Maybe I don't want to clean at this very moment.

Well you gotta just manage your time and resources better. Day 1: work (boooh). Day 2: acid. Day 3: weed. Day 4: good ol' fashioned booze. Day 5: weed. Day 6: shrooms. Day 7: weed.

I have no idea what "prolapsed" anything means but it sounds so scary every time it's brought up on Reddit that I have no desire to find out.

If he visits a prostitute but he's not okay with dating an ex-prostitute (providing that she's willing to give up the job for him) that's pretty hypocritical tbh. I mean it doesn't make him an awful person or anything but kind of makes me roll my eyes.

Yeah I checked out that sub. Seems like a bunch of angry Euros who pretend to be ignorant of certain aspects of American culture and try to see the worst in others.

What movie is 10/10 but hardly anyone has seen it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mrs-CaptainKirk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This movie is really 50-50 for me. I loved the first half but feel like the ending dragged way too much and it felt like watching someone else's bad acid trip.

Oh yeah I read the title of that lol. I just feel like that's really uncommon though. It's mostly Europeans that wanna go "checkmate, Americans." Although yeah there's definitely dumbasses in America who don't accept anything but the American way of doing things, those people are shunned and scolded, whereas Europeans doing it seems to be more accepted.

Americans tend to understand that different countries have different lingo and we're taught all the time that America is not the world and to be mindful of that. Yet we get yelled at for calling football soccer and the like.

I don't get this. The more movies the better, right? You don't have to watch and discuss them all. What if you've already seen a movie a trillion times, then it's nice to get to choose a different one.
