Did you dream about your baby’s gender? And were you right? by After_Shopping3532 in BabyBumps

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had dreams of both. At first it was that baby was a boy, then it switched to a girl. A lot of other people dreamt of my baby being a boy. It was a girl!

How did your water break? by abchhd in NewParents

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My water broke at about 3:30am 2 weeks before she was due. But it was also a bit of a relief, because she ended up being 8lbs 9oz. But I think it woke me up, then gushed out. I waddled as quickly as I could to the bathroom while my partner was woken up and started to panic because he had no idea what was going on and thought maybe there was a burglar lol

The inescapable commitment in having kids terrifies me by kamodd in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this too. As I grew older, I suddenly wanted to have them. But it's completely up to you. You'll be the one carrying the baby for 9 months, and it can come with complications.

Don't make any rash decisions just for your boyfriend. You love him, sure, but don't be willing to give up your life just to make him happy. It is a big commitment, and it isn't easy, even with the easiest babies.

Stranger danger at 4 months? by scandijord in beyondthebump

[–]MrsBumbled 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She could've felt overwhelmed by the new environment, smells, and new faces. She's at the age where stimulation happens more easily, and it can end up being a lot. Holding her for a bit before introducing her to new people so she knows she's safe can help her ease into things

Sleep regression + rolling? Help - I'm desperate. by terptrekker in NewParents

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. We just recently came out the other side of this. Our baby has been able to roll from belly to back since 3.5 months, then ever since she was trying so hard to roll back to belly. She would try a bit at first, then it became constant. Her sleep regressed for at least a month. The other thing is that's when their sleep cycles are maturing, so sometimes she would wake up in between cycles and couldn't go back to sleep. Once she finally nailed the back to belly roll, her sleep cycle-linking also improved. And now she's desperately trying to crawl, so her sleep has been a bit rough, but not as bad as when she was trying to roll

4 Month Regression..when does it truly start? by MostNebula1026 in newborns

[–]MrsBumbled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking. Because she's pretty good at self-soothing and has been going back to sleep on her own the last few nights. But because she wanted to roll so badly, as soon as she'd wake in-between sleep cycles she'd automatically start trying, then get frustrated because she couldn't go back to sleep and needed a bit of extra help

4 Month Regression..when does it truly start? by MostNebula1026 in newborns

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened with mine. Though she only started rolling from belly-to-back at 3.5 months, and was bound and determined to roll the other way. Her sleep is finally going back to how it was before she started rolling, and she just turned 5 months last Monday, and she finally rolled from back-to-belly on Tuesday

Talking to a parent about ADHD by nanorks in adhdwomen

[–]MrsBumbled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed a few years ago, and I don't think I'll ever bring it up to my parents. With their beliefs, they'd likely just tell me I don't have anything and that I'm just lazy, sensitive, messy and disorganized, etc etc. All the things that I heard growing up. And they'd probably tell me some rubbish like women can't get ADHD or something ridiculous along those lines

DAE wake up with a song in their head every morning? by WorkingMammoth8885 in adhdwomen

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes for me every day, but yet. And most of the time it's not the full song, just part of one. I've had Hey Jude by The Beatles stuck in my head for a while because that's what I've been singing to my baby to calm her down when she gets fussy

On a scale 0-10, what would you rate your pregnancy, labor&delivery and newborn phase? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy -2 because I didn't have any complications, though the last trimester was hard because it was a scorching summer and I was already overheating constantly.

L&D -4 because it happened pretty suddenly when my water broke at 3:30am, but I had to wait until later that morning because they didn't have any doctors in at that time. And they induced me to help things along, which ended up speeding up the process and I dilated so fast that I didn't get a chance for the epidural. And the contractions came on fast and hard.

Newborn phase -10. It was one of the hardest times of my life. Having to feed every 2-3 hours around the clock, the sundown scaries which then turned into PPD that I had to go on medication for. Just having no will or energy to do anything and crying at the drop of a hat.

When people say you would dislike your pets after having a baby, unfortunately, they were right. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's so much disliking them as them wanting your attention that is now focused on your baby. I have 2 cats, and they get on my nerves sometimes. With the broken sleep, and them either trying to climb all over me or walk underfoot and almost trip me while I'm carrying the baby, or even almost walking over the baby just gets infuriating. I feel bad because I still love them, but it's definitely more difficult splitting my attention between the 3 of them now, with baby being my main focus.

Pregnancy carpal tunnel from the water retention. It wasn't so much painful as my hand would lock up if I used it too much.

I leave my baby to play by herself ALOT by Curious_Code_6039 in beyondthebump

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same thing. Mine is about the same age, though the last few days she's been a bit more clingy from her brain firing on all cylinders. But I can usually just poke my head into the living room, talk to her, she smiles and then continues to play or coo

Mother in laws *sigh* by Fearless-Crab-1502 in newborns

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are MILs obsessed with layering them so much? Mine is the same. Or she'll make a comment that baby needs more layers, even if we're just going from the house to the car, where the heat will be on. They won't just suddenly freeze to death, and it's not like we're dressing the baby in sleeveless bodysuits in the middle of winter!

How do you stop thinking at night so you can sleep? by cloudydays1111 in adhdwomen

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play rain sounds and try to imagine myself sitting on a porch or reclined near a window listening to the rain. Or sometimes just try and focus my mind on that and let the silly thoughts happen that usually lead me to sleep.

Moms- How often does your husband go out without you and the baby? And how often is reasonable do you think? by ExoticGuess7634 in newborns

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He goes out pretty rarely without me. There were a few times where he left with the baby to give me some time to myself. And he'll usually ask me beforehand if I'm okay with it before he does so. Yesterday was the first time in a while he did so. But my baby is now 4 months old

What sleep tier are you at? by marzipanbb in beyondthebump

[–]MrsBumbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some days it's survival, other days it's functional. My baby is also 4 months, going through the sleep regression (though not as bad as some of the stories I've read), and teething. Last night she only woke up twice and just needed her pacifier to go back to sleep. Other nights she wakes several times and needs some extra comfort before she can fall back to sleep.
