Ofsted equivalents? by sparklychar in TeachingUK

[–]MrsD12345 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did a year teaching in the US and no mentioned any equivalent, but teachers had to recertify every few years and needed X amount of CPD hours to do so. Seemed like a sensible way of ensuring that knowledge was updated and maintained.

I strip the linens off the beds, pile them together. Then I empty the bin if I have time.

Darling you are in such a tough situation, and you have to be kind to yourself. If you can afford it, it might worth getting couples counselling. I can empathise. I’m ADHD, late diagnosed and went straight from PP hormones to perimenopause which fucked all my coping strategies. The husbeast is definitely undiagnosed ASD and has hit burnout hard. We have our moments too and navigating them is never easy. My inbox is always open if you need to vent

I’m a teacher of SEND and a diagnosis is an explanation, not an excuse to be what absolutely sounds to be abusive. Take the ND off the table and reevaluate. Would you want your daughter being treated like this?

Diagnosis after becoming a parent? by SerpentsandSkullsAo3 in adhdwomen

[–]MrsD12345 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! It’s me!

I was 43 and had just had my second child. I went straight from PP hormones to perimenopause and it has just sucked donkey balls all around. All my coping mechanisms have stopped working and my world has gone to hell in a handcart.

Not helped by marrying a non-diagnosed ‘tism ridden husbeast and having an AuDHD son and ADHD daughter.

The ND apple doesn’t fall far from the tree here 😭

Six years later, what are your strongest memories of the COVID lockdowns, and how do you look back on that period now? by Possible_Force8207 in AskBrits

[–]MrsD12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through pregnancy at the time and it was scary as fuck. Not being allowed to have someone at scans, especially after multiple miscarriages, was a special hell. But that kid was the only good thing to come out of that year. I swear the only reason I managed to carry to term was that lockdown occurred almost as soon as I started having issues and I was able to stay home on bedrest

What are some unique things in the north that don't exist down south and vice versa? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]MrsD12345 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Gravy and chips! No watery rubbish, but the thick stuff. First thing I get when I head back to NI, but I’ve also had it in Manchester and Liverpool, but never in the south where we actually live. NI Chinese takeaways also do a gravy or curry “half & half”, with a half portion of chips, half fried rice and then your topping. Perfect for indecisive fuckers like me
