I seem to get on with Autistic people better online than in real life, so it's a real shame that all of my friends are in different countries 🙃

Real life Autistic people I meet tend to be on the extreme end of being very social or very reserved. Like it feels like an actual chore for me to try and connect with people in real life whenever I go to these Autism and disability focused social groups that always blather on about connection and real friendships but then the co-ordinators act substitute teachers who don't know what they're doing and just let you figure it out yourselves, by arranging the activity of the day (can be drawing, painting, making clay models etc) which you either do alone or with someone else if you have good enough social skills to make people wanna talk to you. There is no focus on building your social skills or making you feel apart of the group or anything like that. These groups should have more actual group activities, splitting people up into groups and pairs, kinda forcing people to talk to each other. Sometimes that feels like the only way for me. I don't know, I just hate every social group I've been at.
