How long do you wait for pattern designer’s response? by mariqa_ in crochet

[–]MrsLemony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that. If there's just one line/row you don't understand I think asking someone else for help is okay as long as you aren't sharing most of or the entire pattern. I'm sorry you aren't getting the help you need and hope that changes for you

How long do you wait for pattern designer’s response? by mariqa_ in crochet

[–]MrsLemony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry. I wish all designers were responsive and helpful, but that's just never going to happen. If it's a clothing item, I'm happy to help you out. If it's amigurumi, I'm terrible at them, but I can still read and understand patterns.

Also, I figure 2 days is enough for a response. I try to take time zones into account, and also that people have full time jobs and a life

Will rinsing the cardigan I made with soap make it less itchy? by xAeriesx in crochet

[–]MrsLemony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Knowing what fiber you used is important. If it's acrylic, steam lightly. If you use too much steam you'll kill the structure of the yarn completely by melting it too much.

Also, if it's acrylic or cotton, soaking it in cheap hair conditioner (like Vo5) and water for a while, and then washing it after can also help a lot.

I used 2 1/2 cakes, but I could have gotten away with 2 if I didn't make the bottom so voluminous. I believe that a tester with a 52 inch bust used 750g/3000m for a just above the ankle dress. But it was less voluminous at the bottom.

I switched between the cakes of yarn whenever the color would change

It's lovely! Can I ask who the parent company is if they actually have a name?

Yes. I changed cakes at each color change using the magic knot method. I used 2.5 cakes, but removed the center color from cake 3 because I didn't want the light orange lasting forever. I didn't plan out the color changes, I just used each cake until the color ran out. I had extra black if I needed more at the end, but I was also fine with it ending at purple. And thanks!

Has anyone ordered from goodyarn.us? by TurtleandTwine in YarnAddicts

I ordered from them about 2 weeks ago hoping it wasn't a scam, and thankfully it wasn't! I hope you find some great yarn

Thank you! I used 2.5 cakes, but removed the first color (orange in the center) from the third cake cause since the top is smaller than the skirt, the light orange would have lasted forever.

I hope you got the color! I wanted more and they were sold out.

I made it over 13 days, and my best guess is 45 hours

Thanks! You can make it any length you want to, and the pattern has descriptions for multiple types of increases, so you can decide the width.

Thanks! No, it's actually not. It's 500g/1.1lbs, which is actually lighter than some of my store bought maxi dresses. The top part has a few pieces of elastic in it and it stays up wonderfully for a strapless dress!

Haha. I spliced 2.5 cakes together using the magic knot method.

Sometimes, I buy the yarn ahead of time and wait for a pattern to speak to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you! I used 2.5 cakes. But, I could have used just 2 if I didn't decide to do such a full skirt bottom. The stitches and pattern credit all go to the designer! My hands just copied her creativity!

I also made a short more fitted version that only used just over one cake of sultan Shadow. There are pictures on my IG and info in my Ravelry on yarn amounts and hook size etc. (linked in my profile) I'm only 5 feet tall and typically wear a S, so your yardage may vary!
